A fantastic experience - We had an amazing time with Prince of Whales. We did the sunset tour and I highly recommend it - when you're out looking for whales the sun is still fully up, but it's setting on they way back to shore which makes for an incredible view. Victor was the naturalist we were sitting near, and he was excellent - had tons of knowledge and fun facts about the whales, and his passion for them came through. Learning from him was a pleasure. The boat is large and held many people - at least 50, maybe more. Despite this, there were plenty of seats and the boat didn't feel overly crowded - you get to see the whales regardless of where you're sitting without much vying for space. There's complimentary hot drinks that were appreciated as it got a little chilly on the water! We saw 4 whales - two humpback whales (named Yogi & Dolphin), and got to watch Dolphin hunt for krill with the bubble net technique which we'd never heard of before. We also saw 2 orcas (Chainsaw & Whidby). I really appreciated that we went to see the orcas because after seeing the humpback whales, the crew could have brought us back to shore having fulfilled the minimum tour time and the whale sighting guarantee (and we would have left happy with that experience). Despite this, they heard that there were orcas nearby, and brought us almost to Vancouver Island to see them. In my view, they went above and beyond to help the passengers make the most of the experience, and I would absolutely choose them again for this reason.

10/10 whale watching experience <3 - Would highly recommend whale watching with Prince of Whales! Got to see 12 orcas, 3 humpback whales and countless of sea lions within the 4 hours. One of the humpbacks breached twice which was an incredible sight to witness! Special shout-out to Sebastian for sharing fun stories and facts about whales!

Beautiful Night - We had such a beautiful night on the sunset cruise! Seeing three orcas surface at the same time is a moment I will never forget. Plus we saw humpback whales as well. This was a very special night!

Super whale watching experience - Super whale watching trip, seeing two killer whales, multiple groups of humpback whales, bald eagles and harbour seals. Plenty of time to watch them all and take photos, and Fox the guide was really good at describing what was going on, what they were doing and keeping everything interesting. The humpback whales came so close to the boat, and we saw them jump and breach and it was an overall super whale watching experience. Really special to see the orcas.

What an experience! - An excellent experience worth every dollar that we paid. The staff on board the boat were knowledgeable and approachable, answering questions and giving us so much interesting information about the wildlife we saw. We were fortunate to see two pairs of humpback whale mothers with their calf as well as a golden eagle and seals. It is great to receive the photo package afterwards as it means you can enjoy being in the moment when the animals are spotted. Be warned, it definitely does get nippier out on the water so even in Summer/when it seems sunny on land, take layers and sunglasses!

Exciting - It was a really exciting experience!! I didn't realize I could be moved by the sight of whales. Being in the middle of the ocean in a respectful silence from everyone and listening and seeing the spray of whales as they come out of the water is a priceless experience!! All this was possible thanks to the experience of the crew that made us feel safe and made us conclude the journey by making us bring with us beautiful emotions. Thank you very much Roisin, Ashkey and Fox!!!

Wales and more - Returned to Vancouver from a cruise and was running slightly late due to a bad experience with a hop on hop off bus. I sent a message and they called me back and had my tickets ready. They advised they would be leaving at 1600 sharp. We made it right on time and I even got a second call while I was talking with them to determine exactly what building we needed to check into. We made it just in time. I definitely appreciate the follow up and assistance to get there! The boat is mostly covered but has some great open viewing areas. The wildlife experts were very helpful in identifying and helping point out the sightings. After about an hour boat ride we arrived and were immediately seeing the first whale. We watched that whale for about 20 minutes with 5-6 separate encounters. We then drove a few minutes to view a mother and pup group of whales. We followed this group for about 30 minutes with a dozen or more encounters. Then we drove between some islands and found an adult bald eagle and a juvenile bald eagle. Lastly before heading back to dock we went reef are and saw several large groups of seals and sea lions. Great experience and would definitely recommend!

No sunset cruise - I am not sure how this company gets away with calling this a sunset cruise when you don’t get to see the sunset on the boat. The ticket indicated that the tour would be five hours, but it returned in 3 1/2 hours which was one hour before the 8 PM sunset In addition to whale watching, one of the main reasons I booked the cruise was to be out on the water in a boat to see the sunset- but this did not happen. When I asked one of the crew members on the boat why we were returning before sunset, he commented that they felt we had been able to see whales on the trip so they were returning earlier due to this. Suggest that Viator require this company to remove the word “sunset”from there advertised tour.
