Arrival in Varanasi

Varanasi - Upon arrival at the Airport or Railway Station in Varanasi, visitors find themselves in one of India’s most significant pilgrimage destinations and the most sacred city for Hindus. Known also as Kashi and Benaras, Varanasi is among the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, serving as a hub of learning and culture for over 2000 years. Ganga Aarti - In the evening, enjoy a rickshaw (tricycle) ride through the bustling streets and markets of Varanasi, leading to the sacred Ganges River. Here, a cruise allows visitors to witness the ‘Aarti’ ceremonies, surrounded by hundreds of lit candles and floral offerings.

Banaras Ghats - At dawn, embark on a boat cruise along the Ganges River to observe the pilgrims’ way of life at the Ghats. As the sun rises, the boatman gently guides the vessel, and the Sun God emerges over the horizon. The sound of conches and temple bells pierces the delicate pink dawn, while the ancient Sanskrit Shlokas rise in a unified voice, reaching a crescendo of unmatched devotion and joy.

Bharat Mata Temple - After breakfast, the city tour of Varanasi includes a visit to the Bharat Mata Temple, featuring a large relief map of India in marble, the Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, and Benaras Hindu University, which houses an art gallery and the mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

Sarnath - In the evening, visit Sarnath, a key pilgrimage site for Buddhists. This is where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Sarnath’s temples and Archaeological Museum are rich with Buddhist art treasures.
