• Ashoka Pillar - The Ashoka Pillars in India were erected by the Mauryan King Ashoka between 268 to 232 BC across the Indian subcontinent. They symbolize his dynamic rule and conquests. Although many pillars have been lost or destroyed, 20 still stand in India. These pillars are the earliest known stone scriptures in India, showcasing the advanced Mauryan civilization’s culture.

• Dhamek Stupa - Dhamek Stupa is a significant site in Sarnath due to its historical importance as the location of Buddha’s first sermon, where he introduced the eightfold path to nirvana. The stupa features a cylindrical tower rising approximately 43 meters, with a diameter of 28 meters. The monument’s arched niches may have once housed Buddha statues, and it boasts intricate carvings on some sides.

At noon, an excursion to Sarnath is planned. Sarnath is the historic site where Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples.
