The ghats along the river are bustling with pilgrims who gather at the sacred river to bathe in the holy Ganges, believed to cleanse one of all sins. Observing people as they come to the river in the early morning, bathe in the sacred Ganga, perform rituals, and worship the Sun is a truly unique experience. As you sail, you pass numerous temples, ancient buildings, ashrams, and palaces along the banks, which appear as vibrant as a rainbow when illuminated by sunlight. There is an indescribable timelessness to the scene.
