Unforgettable and magic sunrise boat tour in Varanasi! - The sunrise boat tour on the Ganga was an unforgettable experience in Varanasi. Everything was perfect. We started with a super good chai at the meeting point and then a little walk, with some explanation about Gods and temples on the way, to reach the boat. The traditional rowboat gave a genuine and magic touch to this tour, peacefully flowing on the holy river from where we were able to see the ghats, morning rituals, the sunrise and the city that was slowly waking up. Sonu is the best guide in the world! He is so knowledgeable, so kind and patient, he gave us lots of information about the history of Varanasi, the Mother Ganga and Indian culture. You can really feel the passion for his job and the love for his city! A very special thanks also to the man that has rowed the whole time, allowing us to experience this wonderful and unique boat tour. I am so grateful to have had this experience. I will keep in my heart and my memories forever. Highly recommended! :)

Gorgeous sunrise on the Ganges - Our dawn boat ride on the Ganges was unforgettable. The traditional wooden row boat provided an authentic experience without tourist frills—just us and the sacred river. Our skilled oarsman navigated quietly past the ancient ghats while we witnessed morning rituals and the city's awakening. The simplicity made it special—no unnecessary comforts, just pure Varanasi. The timing was perfect, as the sun rose, painting everything golden. It was worth every rupee and the early wake-up call. It was a genuine glimpse into this spiritual city's soul.

My unforgettable experience with Sonu on the Ganga - I was staying at Sonu's Marigold Guest House for 4 nights (female 69yr NZ traveller) & I took his sunrise boat trip on the Ganga. That morning has been my most precious memory of my 6 week India trip. Sonu is kind & genuine, and having grown up in Varanasi he has an in-depth historical knowledge & his passion for his work is evident. Normally he would have used his quiet & peaceful rowboat, but due to the heavy water traffic because of Kumbh Mela, we used a small motor boat. This definitely didn't detract from the magical morning. If you are looking for an authentic experience, I highly recommend Sonu's boat tour.

Marigold is the ONLY Sunrise Boat Tour to Take. Avoid evening boats. - Sonu + Marigold Boat Ride is amazing. At exactly 5.30 AM, we met at Shree Cafe and I had around 5 co passengers who took the tour along with me. Sonu was generous enough to take us around the different ghats, starting from Dashashwamedh, going to Harish Chandra, and Manikarnika and then back to Dashashwamedh. The best part of this tour is the sunrise and the photo opportunities on the boat. Sonu and his boatsman is very helpful. I had a knee issue and they were very patient to put me in the boat. The guide had lots to share about every Ghat that we visited along with fun facts around trends, news, and we chatted quite a bit. I am looking forward to his Music on the Boat tour as well. Surreal experience. Must do when you are here.

Sunrise boat ride with amazing views - We were doubting if a sunrise boat was worth it but decided to go for it and we are now glad we did! The boat ride offers amazing views of the ghats and the guide offered insightful information. If you don’t mind an early start, highly recommended.
