Great Family Gondola Tour - They had a Virtual Reality experience that walked you through the history and then further commentary as you walked through Venice about the history of the city that culminated in an amazing Gondola ride. All 7 of us enjoyed the experience.

Worth a visit! - My family and I really enjoyed this experience. Our children 5 and 9 were equally engrossed in all three parts. Our only groan would be that it didn’t seem well organised when it came to tour guides taking their groups off. We almost went off with the wrong group due to the instructions given to us. The 3D experience was great but we were unable to join in with our assigned group - not an issue though as we went back at the end and had our own personal session. Our tour guide was great and gave us a whistle stop tour - not too long - just right for our children. The gondola experience was great and our gondolier was very friendly and answered any questions we asked. Forgot to get his name but he was really nice - he even took our picture. Great with our kids too. All in all, worth the money we paid. The directions given to find the meeting point were spot on too. Things to have in mind - initial walking tour is not detailed (didn’t bother us) quite quick and in parts we couldn’t hear that we’ll because of building work. - you may have to share a gondola with another small group (5 people per gondola) - you may not sit where you want to because the passengers have to be sat according to weight - to balance the gondola. Despite some minor negatives and the fact that Venetians don’t actually travel by gondola, our family are really pleased that we signed up for this experience.

Just hop on a gondola when you see one - The experience was fine, nothing special. We went into a book shop and had a VR experience about the history of Venice/gondola's then walked through the lanes with the tour guide to the place where we would get on our gondola. Our ear piece/connection to the phone that was given to us didn't end up working (maybe because we were rushed to get on the gondola so the guide might have not connected it properly). So no live commentary (even though 'live' commentary I would presume was by the gondola rower). Also no music as told due to the connection issue. Not that we were bothered by that either way it's peaceful and present to be riding through the canals without ear pieces on. The ride was the best part and got to see some lovely areas. But when we got off at the start point there was no guide to be found. We had to figure out our own way back to the meeting point to return all the devices and ear piece. I thought that was really poor, especially if you didn't have connection or your own device that could tell you the way back. Who's to say someone wouldn't just take all that with them and not return it ? Overall I wouldn't recommend booking this experience. There seems to be hundreds of gondola's all around Venice that you can just hop on when there, especially during quieter times.

Meh, better to just get the Gondola only. - The tour part was very weak as tours go. The virtual goggles taking you back in time was pretty cool. The gondola ride was about what was expected but almost 10 minutes short of the 30 minutes indicated online.

Underwhelming for the cost. - We were really looking forward to this and were very underwhelmed. Our gondolier was not warm and friendly at all. The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. So although the ride was nice, the overall experience was less than expected.

Quiet, not really... - Quiet, not really friendly. We could take picture in the other side of the boat and also we share the boat but we couldn’t take pictures on the main chairs

Great ride but problem with logistics - Communications need to be clearer. We were told not to leave til 11 but our group left earlier. We were expecting English commentary on the gondola, but it just played music thru the headset. Great ride but logistics were problematic.

Gondola ride - Unfortunately we overpaid for this experience. I thought by booking in advance we would save. We paid 160$ total for 3 people. You can wait on line and pay 90$ or 110$ for evening hours. We had to share the gondola with 2 strangers which I didn’t love. You could get your own gondola when you wait on line. Also our gondola didn’t interact with us. I clicked on the commentary option which I would not recommend.

Venice gondolas at rialto bridge Rip off - After being relieved of €90 for the pleasure of a gondola ride from outside the Rialto hotel gondola service I would not recommend them. It was advertised as 30 minutes. We were stunned that we were back to bank and out of the boat in 20 minutes. When we asked the gondolier he said 20-25 minutes give or take. Rip Off

Avoid - Gondola ride was one of the most disappointing ride ever. 3 minutes on the grand canal before getting stuck on the smaller canals behind scores of other gondolas. No interaction with the gondolier whatsoever, too busy chatting the other gondoliers stuck aswell. The walking tour is short and interesting, the VR experience a bit gimmicky. Book a gondola from a spot as you go around and avoid this tourist trap.
