Venetian islands - Drop Torcello visit. Nothing to see there. Spend more time in Burano. Many restaurants there for lunch.

Highly recommended - If you're in Venice then I highly recommend taking half day tour of Murano, Burano and Torcello. They will also take you to glass factory where you will see how things are created out of blowing glass. The museum/ gift shop of the glass museum is outstanding but wayyyy to pricey. Keep your kids close to you. If you break anything, a minimum of thousand euro goes down in the drain. But the stuff there is original. Outside, anywhere in Venice, you will see many glass decoration pieces but remember, they would be pricey but not original. So if you intend to buy an expensive decor, I recommend getting it from glass museum. The tour includes three islands. You'll see where the work of crochet and lace came from. Your last stop is Torcello, where the church of Santa Maria is a must place to visit. (Visited Aug2015)

This is a good opportunity to see... -
This is a good opportunity to see some of the islands around Venice. The boat was comfortable and warm to get back on after walking around. Murano was limited to a glass factory demonstration and shopping which was fine but there was no opportunity to see the island. Torcello was next and a short walk past some cafes and shops brought us to a fine church. With only 40 minutes on the island and a 10 minute walk each way to the church, time is limited. The highlight for us was Burano. It was getting dark as we arrived and the Main Street and little coloured houses were so pretty. A spectacular sunset and a ride back towards the lights of Venice was lovely. A good taster of the islands. Downsides were that the linguistically talented lady on the microphone was speaking so fast that it was hard to make out what she was saying and that the men on the boat made everyone wait in the cold until the exact time for getting back on arrived. As it was so cold, this seemed a bit unnecessary.

Not quite as described but worth going - The description says things like "explore the island" and there was NO time to explore Murano. This was a serious bummer to me but there was time in Burano to check out sites. The stop in Torchelo was a waste of time though. Would have been MUCH better to have spent this extra time in Murano and Burano.

Practical way of visiting these nice islands - Tour is giving you a chance to visit all these 3 nice islands in limited time period. If you are looking for some quick snapshot for these islands, you are in the right place. Glass factory tour is totally commercial and waste of time.. Hard to understand Italian English short guide notes..

Waste of money - The Excursion was overcrowded ,the Guide was not proficient in English with a very strong accent ,Most of the commentary was not in English although it was an English excursion ,The Guide never got off the boat but told us to go to the various places .No Guiding at all !! Dont waste your money

40 minutes in each place is too... -
40 minutes in each place is too short. The glass blower was good but he only made 2 items and it lasted only 5 minutes. Next time I'd jus go to Murano on my own and spend time finding glass blowers on my own. Waste of money and time.
