The two-hour tour will commence in the historic Rialto area, famously described by historians as “Europe’s Wall Street in the Middle Ages.” Participants will uncover the secrets of the Rialto Point of Sale and gain insight into the Venetian perspective on the Rialto Bridge, along with its breathtaking view of the Grand Canal. The significance of masks and Carnival in Venice will be explored, followed by a stroll away from the crowds to appreciate the city’s distinctive layout: bridges, elegant private palaces, narrow alleys, large and small squares (known as fields), and intricate stone well heads. The tour will culminate at the world’s most beautiful square, Piazza San Marco, showcasing renowned architecture such as the Doge’s Palace, the Sansovino Library, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Bell Tower.
Participants will be guided through the millennium-long history of the Serenissima Republic, delving into the captivating past and intriguing present of this extraordinary city.
