- Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute - Santa Maria della Salute, also known as Salute Church or simply La Salute, is a basilica in Venice located at Punta della Dogana. It stands prominently in the panorama of St. Mark’s Basin and the Grand Canal. Designed by Baldassare Longhena with inspiration from Palladio’s models, it is a prime example of Venetian Baroque architecture. Its construction was an ex voto to the Madonna by Venetians for deliverance from the Plague that devastated the population between 1630 and 1631. The devotion became so ingrained in Venice that the Virgin Mary was added to the list of patron saints of the city.
- San Giorgio Maggiore - The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore is a small island situated opposite St. Mark’s Square in Venice. It is separated from the island of Giudecca by the small Canale della Grazia and is bordered by the Giudecca Canal, the San Marco Basin, the San Marco Canal, and to the south, the lagoon. It is part of the sestiere of San Marco.
- San Lazzaro degli Armeni - San Lazzaro degli Armeni is a small island in the Venice lagoon, located near the west coast of the Venice Lido and entirely occupied by a monastery, the mother house of the Mekhitarist Order. The island is one of the world’s earliest centers of Armenian culture.
- Piazza San Marco - St. Mark’s Square is one of the most significant monumental squares globally, celebrated for its beauty and architectural harmony. It is also known as “The Drawing Room of Europe” or “The Piazza.”
It is the only urban space in Venice that is officially called “piazza,” as all other square-like spaces are referred to as “campi.” It is truly one of the wonders of humanity.
- Lido di Venezia - The Lido of Venice is a slender island stretching approximately 12 km between the Venetian lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, bordered by the ports of San Nicolò and Malamocco. It is connected to the city and the mainland only by scheduled waterbuses and motor rafts for vehicle transport.
About 12.2 km long, it is one of the few islands in the lagoon with carriage roads and also features a small tourist airport. It is renowned for its stunning beach, exquisite Art Nouveau villas from the 1900s, and the Film Festival, which attracts film stars from around the world each year.
- Isola delle Vignole - Le Vignole is a small island in the Venice Lagoon with a population of only 54 people. It is known as one of Venice’s vegetable gardens, where Venetians go to enjoy delightful days of relaxation by boat. It is most famous for producing artichokes called “castraure” that can be eaten raw!
- Arsenale di Venezia - The Venice Arsenal is an ancient complex of shipyards and workshops that constitutes a significant part of the island city of Venice at its eastern end. It was the heart of the Venetian shipbuilding industry from the 12th century onward and is associated with the most prosperous period in the life of the Serenissima. Thanks to the impressive ships built here, the Venetian Republic was able to dominate the Mediterranean and secure a monopoly on trade with the East.
Surrounded by 3 km of crenellated red-brick walls, it employed up to 16,000 people at its peak and can be considered, due to its size, age, and the ingenuity of its design and operation (ships were built here on an assembly line since the 16th century), as one of the first true industrial complexes in Europe.
- Laguna di Venezia - The Venice Lagoon is the largest lagoon in the Mediterranean Sea. A place of rare beauty, it offers unique sensations and atmospheres in every season. The entire area was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. The Venice lagoon cannot be described; it must be experienced!
- Basilica di San Marco - There is little to add. It is simply one of the most breathtaking views in the world, which can be enjoyed aboard the bragozzo “El Sultan” while sipping excellent prosecco.
