- Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai (Vergina) - The tour starts in Thessaloniki and follows the National Road to reach the Royal Tombs of Vergina. This small village gained fame in 1977-78 when the renowned Greek Professor and Archaeologist Andronicos discovered the Royal Tombs. Known as Aigai, it was the first capital of Ancient Macedonia until 400 BC, when the capital moved to Pella. It was believed to be the burial site for all Macedonian Kings. Enter the underground structure with your guide and marvel at some of the most significant artifacts that once belonged to Philip II, including the King’s shield decorated with ivory and gold, the King’s gold-trimmed iron breastplate, exquisitely crafted Gold Diadems, the Golden Wreath of oak leaves, the gold-plated collar, and the Silver Burial Urns. Pay close attention as your guide describes the discovery of a Golden Chest inside King Philip’s tomb, which contained the King’s bones, washed with wine and wrapped in purple cloth.

Fantastic Day - We had a wonderful day. Michalis was a safe driver. He was very knowledgeable on local history of Agai and Pella. We ended our day at a lovely Taverna in Pella.
I would highly recommend this tour to others. The 3 of us loved our day immersed in Macedonian History..

The tour was a great... - The tour was a great contrast to being in Thessaloniki, the site of the city of Pella, while fascinating didn’t have great information but the Museum made up for it. I would recommend eating lunch at the Museum as the cafe at the Royal Tombs has a limited choice. The Royal Tombs was quite amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

A Perfect Blend of History and Hospitality - This tour was the highlight of our stay in Thessaloniki. Visiting the ancient capital of Pella and the royal tombs in Vergina felt like stepping back in time. The museums were beautifully curated and full of incredible artifacts from the time of Alexander the Great. Our driver, Mr. Alexandros, was fantastic—polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. He gave us plenty of tips and background info without overwhelming us. The car was super comfortable, and the whole day felt relaxed and well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone who loves history, culture, and stress-free travel!

Meteora tour with Mt Olympus views - Michael provided a fantastic experience, both on the journey to and from Meteora, and during the monastery visits. He provided valuable background and historical info that enhanced the experience. We also enjoyed views of Mt Olympus from all sides

Alex was an excellent... - Alex was an excellent driver and guide. He shared a thoughtful and thorough account of the history of Macedonia and Alexander the Great. Spent an enjoyable day learning about Greece both ancient and modern.

Excellent explanation of the history of Alexander the Great - This was an excellent tour which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our guide, Alexander was extremely knowledgeable and added so much history and insights into the area. The site of Pela and its museum was fascinating and the tombs were spectacular.

Travelled 5 hours to get cancelled on - Cancelled on me 15 minutes after we were supposed to be picked up. Unacceptable. After traveling specifically for this tour, 5 hours by train, and booking a hotel.
