- Piazza delle Erbe - A charming square in the city center, surrounded by historic palaces and buildings that have shaped Verona’s history; today, it hosts a vibrant market.
- Piazza dei Signori - Two medieval squares in the city; the first, also known as “Piazza Dante,” features a statue of the father of the Italian language, while the second includes the impressive Lamberti Tower and Palazzo della Ragione.
- Cortile Mercato Vecchio e Scala della Ragione - Construction of Palazzo della Ragione began in 1193, and by 1196, documents mention a Palacium Communis Veronae. The palace was a simple, fortified structure, originally intended to have four corner towers. Besides the Torre dei Lamberti, there was the Cappella or Torrazzo tower, located at the corner of Piazza delle Erbe and Via Cairoli, and the Masseria tower, at the corner of Via Cairoli and Via Dante. For architectural balance, another corner tower likely stood between Via Dante and Piazza dei Signori, though no documentation remains.
- Arche Scaligere - A monumental Gothic-style funerary complex that serves as the final resting place for the Lords of Verona, the Della Scala family.
- Romeo’s House (Casa di Romeo) - A well-preserved example of a typical medieval house.
- Ponte Pietra - The only surviving bridge from Roman times, constructed in the 1st century AD.
- Porta Borsari - World Heritage Site - An entrance gate within the now non-existent Roman walls, built in the 1st century AD, marking the start of the city’s Decumano Massimo during Roman times.
- Ponte Scaligero - A striking symbol of the Scaligeri era in Verona; constructed in the latter half of the 1300s, it served as the family’s military fortress, from which the medieval city walls began, including the unique and picturesque Scaligeri Bridge.
- Piazza Bra - A lively and bustling square, simply known as Brà; surrounded by ancient city walls, Palazzo della Gran Guardia, and the 19th-century Palazzo Barbieri. On the north side, the wide stone pavement, the Liston, is the square’s symbol, featuring bars and restaurants.
