The best two days of our trip to South Africa - We are from the Uk a family Of four two adults two children 10 & 8. I booked this trip in March and emailed Shockwaves as it said it took children. I myself have done the river before so knew what to expect. Shockwaves were the only company that would take children and I emailed them to confirm a date and time. We were visiting Zambia. All the way through any questions I asked they always came back prompt with concise information. The visa was $50 per person and the transfer across the boarder was $30 each way - on top of that we paid for a two day trip with an over night. They met us at the boarder, the crossing was not quick but it was an experience. 😂 It started with a wonderful meal and then a track down the gorge to the river where the boat was waiting. I had bought crocs, I wish I’d bought my trainers and then in the boat put them in a dry bag and gone bare foot in the boat. As we were a family we missed rapids 1-10 and started at 11. This was for safety and the ability to take an 8 year old. We had two guides OG and Silent, there love, ability and respect for the water was obvious and at all times we felt happy safe. We had a full day of rafting and enjoying what the Zambezi would throw at us. The kids loved it. At night we camped under the stars, the kids played and made a fire. No screens / bliss. In the morning 🌅 we woke up swam in the river had breakfast and coffee packed up and went down the river and then had an epic climb out. I’m chronic asthmatic - I struggled with the climb but took my time and loved it when i got out. Afterwards we drove home which we loved, through the villages and seeing the real country - the kids eyes were opened. All in all I would recommend this trip 100% we loved it so much thanks - SHOCKWAVES

Shockwave Adventure Rocks!!!! - This is my first visit to Africa and thank God we took our friends recommendation to plan through Philani @Shockwave Adventure. Everything has been so easy and taken care of thru Philani. Yesterday we went river rafting on the mighty Zambezi River!! It was amazing! We have already enjoyed a sunset cruise and safaris in Chobe National Park, Botswana where all of our transfers and border crossings were easy. Any needs Bart & I have had for information (where to get cash, where to eat etc) has been easy to communicate with Philani. He has taken Very good care of us! We leave today for 2days in Hwrenge. This has been a trip of our lifetime!!! We will tell all our friends about Shockwave adventures!!

The Absolute Highlight of our Action and Adventure packed Vic Falls Trip !! - Our family of 5 and 3 friends had an absolute blast on the Shockwave 1.5 day overnight rafting trip ! Philani , Silent and their team were such a pleasure to be with. They are a thoroughly professional outfit in all respects - they combine humour and expertise to make one feel totally safe without taking away from the excitement and challenge of the rapids. The food was superb and camping on a white sandy beach in the Batoka Gorge was a highlight ! The team of porters who brought down food and camping gear did an amazing job, and our every request was catered for - even to the extent of chocolate cake and ice cream to celebrate a birthday in the group!! Going the extra mile in such a way was so very much appreciated ! It was all over much too soon , but another highlight was to see the village where Philani and Team grew up en route by safari vehicle to Vic Falls. Thanks guys, you're the greatest !

Experience of a lifetime - overnight rafting and camping trip - I can’t say enough good things about the experience my partner and I had rafting with Shockwave! We did the 1.5 day raft trip with one night camping on the banks of the Zambezi and it’s an experience I’ll never forget. I would recommend Shockwave to anyone based on our experience. We also loved booking with the only company in Vic Falls owned and operated by a local Zimbabwean and enjoyed the personalized service of a smaller operation. From submitting an inquiry through the end of the trip, everyone we dealt with was friendly and focused on making sure we had a great time. The rafting: Part of the reason we were stoked to raft with Shockwave was their focus on safety. We had no idea until midway through the trip what good hands we were actually in: our raft guide, TT, is the captain of Zimbabwe’s national rafting team and has won international competitions on this stretch of the river. His expertise showed! He masterfully guided us through the rapids. Every other person we met in Vic Falls who went rafting had flipped at least once, whereas we didn’t even come close. The water was the biggest I’ve ever run, definitely no joke and quite a thrill, but we seemed to hit every line just right. Additionally, there were flatter stretches of river in which we were allowed to swim along in the current and even jump off a small cliff. The experience of floating down the Zambezi was amazing! The camping: I couldn’t believe how many hard-working men worked on schlepping our gear down the canyon, setting up camp, and cooking our meals. As people who are used to camping and doing all the work ourselves, it was a luxury to be so well take care of. The tent/sleeping situation was comfortable and the meals were excellent. Dinner around the campfire was one of my favorite meals on a trip that included plenty of fine dining! A highlight of the whole experience was sitting around the campfire after dinner talking with our guides, laughing and learning a bit about life in Zimbabwe. The views and the stars were also incredible when camping. My partner and I came away so impressed with our experience. I hope to return to do a longer trip with them. TT, Liberty in the kayak, and the other guys who contributed to our trip were a joy to get to know. Thank you for an amazing time!
