Vienna tour with Adil - We had an amazing experience with Adil as our guide during our trip to Austria! He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, making every part of the journey enjoyable. Adil took us to some breathtaking locations, including Salzburg, Hallstatt, Bergen, and Melk, and shared fascinating insights about each place. His attention to detail and passion for the culture and history of Austria truly stood out, and he ensured we had plenty of time to enjoy and explore each destination. Whether it was the stunning scenery of Hallstatt, the historic charm of Salzburg, or the beautiful architecture of Melk Abbey, Adil made sure we didn’t miss a thing. If you’re looking for a guide who is patient, organized, and goes above and beyond to make your trip memorable, Adil is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience... - Amazing experience covering multiple locations in Austria. Petar was the best guide a traveller can wish for, he provided us with interesting information about all locations and had created the best schedule so we have the best experience in each place. Most heartfelt thanks to Petar for making this day trip memorable.

Super tour - Matus was a great guide. He let us know that he was running late due to traffic and picked us up from our hotel. It was a nice small group. We were able to see Melk, Hellstat and Salzburg. I loved that Matus kept his portion short and succinct allowing us to venture into the city at our leisure. I also really appreciated that he gave us money saving tips, best viewpoints and took our pictures. He was a very thoughtful and professional young man.

I had never heard of... - I had never heard of hallstatt until my travel partner mentioned it when we got to Vienna. It's one of those Instagram spots that everyone ooohs and aaahs over so yep we decided to give it a look. Driver was right on time for pickup at our hotel at 7am. He spoke decent English. He was from Bratislava and told he had drove this same tour the day before. So I'm guessing he's working on 6 hours sleep. It's hour drive from Bratislava to Vienna. He had to make 3 other pickups so that took an hour. First stop Melk.. Well second stop because we made a 10/15 minute bathroom stop just outside of Vienna. Melk was well MEHH!! Just not worth the 30 minute stop. Abbey was a 10 minute picture stop at best or skip it entirely. The sanctuary was beautiful but no pictures. Because we were only ones there everyone took a couple of pictures. Driver then asked us where we wanted to go next. I was thinking Dennys but they don't have those in Austria lol. No our choices were hallstatt or Salzburg which one first. Everyone chose hallstatt because a couple in our group wanted to do the salt mine tour there. Hey now we talking. We wanted to do that also. So off we head to hallstatt. We made a 10 minute stop at a lake in the mountains then wound our way to our destination. It was rainy and cold but we had a destination to get to. The salt mine facility has two parts. A lift ride to the top of the mountain and you can add the mine tour. Only problem was the tour took an hour and half or so. We got there roughly midday but a tour had already started. Next tour was 1:30ish so we were scheduled to leave at 3ish. So to do both the picture spot and the tour weren't possible. Very disappointed. Only cool thing is we took the lift up to the top and it was sleeting and snowing up there. Great overlooks and picture spots. The salt mine gift store had some great cool souvenirs and quite reasonably priced. Hallstatt is more famous for the salt mine than the IG picture spot. Also we were told up front that most places in hallstatt weren't credit card friendly. That wasn't the case. Most places took cards. We did see a couple of restaurants that said cash only but they didn't have any patrons. So I'd tell these places get into the 21st century. Next stop Salzburg. But to get there yep you guessed it.. We had to drive winding roads back from the valley floor up to the top of the area. Driver must have been trying to make up time because we were rolling the roads. A bit too fast. At least 2 people in the group were a bit car sick from the drive. This should have been a nice leisurely drive not doing the road course at the 24 hours of Lemans. This was our second time in Salzburg so we broke off from the group after 20 minutes of walking and headed to the cafe tomaselli. Then we walked a little around old town and got back to the van for the 4 hour drive back to Vienna. Criticisms.. 1. The tour info should state it will be at least 15-16 hours total. 2. Our driver was a good driver. He was not much of a guide at all. Mostly he got us to where we were going pointed out a few things and left us on our own. He did communicate very well where to meet back at. WhatsApp and internet connection required. 3. Cut Melk out. Not worth the time. 4. Coordinate better hallstatt and the salt mine. A tour operator should be able to communicate with a tourist destination and obtain your times etc. I would thing they would be able to work with the salt mine tour and give them details of the group number of people wanting to do a tour. If we had skipped Melk we would have been able to do the salt mine. This tour was limited to 8 people. The salt mine should be made aware of a group coming and how many want to do the tour. The driver tour operator and salt mine should be able to work together on this. 5. Make sure everyone in the group can communicate with the driver. We had 2 Turkish ladies in our group who spoke no English or German. They were lucky there were two other Turkish people who spoke English with us. The only issue that arose was the first drop off was the Turkish people that spoke English then the ladies and the driver had a little difficulty figureing out their hotel. 6. I wouldn't call the driver a guide if any type. He drove well. Pointed us on the right directions. Didn't talk much other than that. 7. Driver needed to slow down on the mountain roads. Otherwise he might be cleaning a big mess out in the van. 8. Drivers need to be rotated more. Our driver probably worked a 17-19 hour day the day before doing the same tour. Driving is draining on a person. 5-6 hours sleep. The group knew he was sleeping in the van when we were at hallstatt. Also he was very road weary on way back to Vienna. We noticed him nodding a couple of times. He made one stop from Salzburg to Vienna and only when we requested a bathroom break. Probably needed to take at least one earlier break. Driver was really really nice guy. But he probably needed not to be driving two days in a row. Plus he said he wasn't sure if he'd be driving the same tour the next day. That's scary to think 3 days in a row with minimal sleep. Would I recommend this trip. Probably so if someone wanted to do a day trip to hallstatt and Salzburg. Long day of riding tho

Make it a day in Halstatt and surrounding small towns - Andy the guide was excellent. Not a reflection on him. This should be a one day trip to Halstatt. There are lots of small towns to visit around Halstatt. Andy shared with us many photos of small towns in and around the area. The stop at Melk is not worthy of the stop. It’s nice but a time waste. Not a highlight. Lake Trancee which you drive by “looks” amazing” but you drive right by it. Beautiful town from the looks of it. It’s directly on the way to Halstatt. The drive is 2.5 hours from Vienna or it was for us as we were picked up first. Spent a little over an hour picking people up… The day is verrrrrrry long. Be prepared to spend 7-8 hours in the van. Your stays are short and rushed. BRING FOOD WITH YOU. You will not have time to grab a meal. Halstatt has a salt mine you can tour as well. Which takes an hour and half. You do not have time. You get about 1.5 hours. It’s not enough. Then your rushed off to Salzburg and another 1.25 hour drive. Salzburg is ok…definitely not a city I’d return to. If you like Mozart or the Sound of Music you might like it more. Once you’re done with your 1.5 hours in Salzburg back on the bus…3+ hours back to Vienna…brutal. I urge the company to be different. Offer just Halstatt and the surrounding towns. It would be far more enjoyable. If you value your time, this trips wastes a lot of your time. Too much windshield time, to little time enjoying the sites and you’ll feel rushed.

Worst tour - This was not a good trip : What is promised was not delivered . it was told at time of booking 1) Pick up from hotel and drop - last minute ( few hours before scheduled trip -) message came on the app saying to come on our own to the common meeting point . We had to travel back to hotel on our own too. costed us 25 € 2) there was no guide - The tour operators were new to business - and had no knowledge of the place . the tour operators just said the name of place and asked us to proceed on our own 3) There was a shabby allocated time that kept changing in last minute at each location. We had to rush back to the meeting point in bus 4) The driver was very angry with the tour operators for some reason. 5) It was disappointing as there were no WC stops , no refreshment stops in between 6) A professional photograph was promised at time of booking . later changed as paid service on commencement of tour . We humbly request that Viator should not accommodate such unprofessional, Ill informed tour operators. We wasted lot of money . Hopefully, the only solace would be some refund on services not includes .
