- Hallstatt - After a scenic 3-hour drive, visitors are greeted with a warm “Welcome to beautiful Hallstatt!” Strolling through the charming old town, one can admire the centuries-old architecture and breathe in the fresh mountain air. This village, nestled in the Inner Salzkammergut and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has evolved geologically from ancient seas and culturally from over 7,000 years of salt history. Picturesque houses set against the mountains, quaint winding alleys, and the crystal-clear lake at the town’s base have inspired a replica of this idyllic town in China. The historic town center, with its vibrant market square, colorful shops, and cozy cafés, is particularly enchanting. Known for its rich history, visitors can explore the World Cultural Heritage Hallstatt, including the Hallstatt History Museum, which is a must-see alongside the excavations and the ancient ossuary. A boat trip on the lake is also an option.
- Salzwelten Hallstatt - The Salzwelten in Hallstatt, the world’s oldest salt mine, is a must-visit. Salt has been extracted from the Salzberg for 7,000 years at an altitude of around 900 meters. The site is steeped in salt mining history. During the tour, visitors will learn about the ancient and modern methods of salt extraction. The mine slides and the illuminated underground salt lake are thrilling. The 350-meter ascent can be comfortably made via cable car. Each tour participant receives a “mining outfit.” With a guide, visitors hike into the tunnel, reaching the first highlight within minutes, where they can slide into the tunnel system like miners! For those who prefer not to slide, stairs are available. The tour includes “knowledge stations” with informative displays and light shows. At the tour’s conclusion, a miners’ train returns visitors to daylight, enriched by the experience.
- Hallstatt Skywalk - The Hallstatt Skywalk majestically overlooks Lake Hallstatt and is one of Austria’s most impressive viewing platforms. Located at the Rudolfsturm, at the entrance to the Hallstatt high valley, the Skywalk in the Salzkammergut was inaugurated in 2013 and has since become a popular destination. The 12-meter-long platform extends freely above Lake Hallstatt, offering a unique view of the historic center of Hallstatt, including the world-famous church. Nowhere else offers this perspective of historic Hallstatt and the lake. The mountain drops 350 meters from the Skywalk platform, situated 860 meters above sea level! The Skywalk is accessible via the Salzbergbahn, allowing visitors to combine it with a visit to the salt mines at no additional cost.
- Dachstein Giant Ice Caves - The Dachstein Krippenstein cable car transports visitors in a panoramic gondola to the mesmerizing Dachstein giant ice cave. These ice palaces are among the Alps’ greatest natural wonders, attracting visitors worldwide to witness the underground ice landscape. Massive cave glaciers, icebergs, and ice chapels provide a refreshing contrast to the outside world on hot summer days. The cave guide shares insights into Earth’s history that scientists have uncovered here. Guided tours are available in seven foreign languages with the free ‘Hearonymus’ audio guide for smartphones.
Temperature in the Giant Ice Cave: -2°C (28.4°F). It is recommended to wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing.
Ice cave ticket not included in the package:

- Mammoth Cave - The vast Mammoth Cave captivates with its incredible dimensions and unexpected play of colors found underground in the Salzkammergut! Named by explorers for the enormous size of its rooms and corridors, over 70 kilometers of passages have been explored, with nearly one kilometer accessible on guided tours. It is one of Europe’s largest karst caves. In the Midnight Cathedral, a multi-visual image projection offers insights into this fascinating sunless world. Visitors will encounter cave animals and small forms of unexpected beauty. Enriched by the caving experience, visitors return to daylight.
The Mammoth Cave is accessible via a well-maintained, 15-minute path from the gondola mountain station, where visitors can enjoy a fantastic view of the valley.
