Alternatively, visitors can rent a boat at their own expense.
- Hallstatter See - Ascend to the World Heritage Skywalk for a breathtaking view of the town, lake, and mountains. Please note that the lift will be closed for renovations from September 2025 to June 2026. In favorable weather, a relaxing boat trip on the lake will be available, offering stunning views of the surrounding nature.
- Landzeit Voralpenkreuz - Enjoy a coffee break in the country-like atmosphere of another high-quality restaurant along the highway. A mandatory 30-minute stop will be made for the coach, in compliance with EU law regulations.

You will journey along one of Austria’s most scenic routes, providing memorable views of awe-inspiring Alpine surroundings. The breathtaking landscapes and hues of the magical Hallstatt will undoubtedly captivate your attention. It would be impossible to resist the allure of capturing the wedding bridge of the winter-white Ort castle in your shots. These must-visit locations will assist you in uncovering the refined spirit, rich history and the natural splendour of the Austrian lake region.
- Infant is free until a separate seat needed, however this is not recommended for infants.
- May be operated by a multi-lingual guide in English and Russian.
- Choose at least 24 hour before tour departure an option with free hotel pick-up, which starts approx. 45 min prior to departure.
- Please note that you will cover approx. 600 km. by motorway and Alpine roads at this day. It is approx. 7,5 hours drive with short breaks. You will spend approx. 20 minutes in Ort castle, max. 3 hours in Hallstatt, 15 minutes in Traunkirchen, 2 stops on the highway for coffee break.
- Since most places don’t accept cards in Hallstatt, we advise you to bring some cash for boats and street food, as well as 50-cent coins for the toilets.
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SKYWALK VISITORS Skywalk lift began extensive renovation works and will remain in operation until 31 August 2025. Pease note: Skywalk viewpoint is no longer barrier-free accessible. Wheelchairs and pushchairs must be parked at the valley station and there are many steps to go from moutaint station to Skywalk view point. The Skywalk lift will be closed for renovation from Septemeber 2025 to June 2026

Fab guide, beautiful Hallstatt - Great excursion to the castle on the lake and Hallstatt. Our guide Dasha was very experienced and knowledgeable and made the trip very interesting. It was a long day but a few stops helped and the scenery was great. Hallstatt was lovely as was the castle on the lake, a trip definitely worth doing, well done.

Hallstatt trip - It was a great excursion, with lots of information about Vienna and Austria in general. I particularly liked the little stop at Chatezau d’Ort in the alley, even if it was fast!
The other two “meal” stops were not necessary in my opinion.
Hallstatt was magical at that time! I recommend the excursion

Long day but a great day.... - Long day but a great day. Hallstatt has incredible scenic beauty. We were so lucky to have huge, fluffy snowflakes!! Town looked like what you see in a snow globe. Sofia was our tour guide and was great.

Hallstatt Nov 2025 - This was a great trip to see Hallstatt, a picturesque town situated on a beautiful lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. Our guide, Sabrina was great and made sure we had plenty of time to explore the town. If you decide to take this tour I highly recommend taking the boat trip. It was a fun full day trip and I am so very glad that I added this to my travels in Austria.

Wonderful trip! - Trip is very well planned out. Our tour guide Sabrina was wonderful and pleasant to be around, with great music and history of Austria. Driver was safe on the road and felt comfortable in a snowy weather conditions. I can’t recommend the team enough! They’re kind and friendly people.

Lovely enjoyabke trip - It is a long drive there but Hallstatt is beautiful. The scenery of the countyside along the way also gorgoleius, The trip there was very comfortable. Our Guide Sofia was excellent helpful and entertaining. Her recommendation where to eat spot on. Dragon the driver safe and steady, enjoyed the trio and lovely countryside.

Whirlwind day trip - The day trip to Hallstatt was elevated by Sophia’s great guidance and story telling. She was very sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable.
The short stops on the way over felt a bit rushed, but were nice choices and well spaced along the route.
The boat ride was a small loop across the lake and back, offering nice views and warm gluhwein, but not too much in the way of a tour.
Hallstatt has a 3 hr visitor time limit, so there was just time for a bit of lunch, a small walk around town, and to see the sweet churches. Very crowded as there were a number of tourist buses there together.
Coach bus was clean and comfortable.

Worth the long drive - It was a very long day so dress comfortably. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged during the long drive to Hallstatt. She worked hard to keep everyone on time at all the stop points, though we did have a few people that didn't seem to own a watch. Fantastic day all round!

So-so experience - but Hallstatt was lovely. - Hallstatt was beautiful. The guide was so-so - a lot of talking on the bus and many of the jokes weren’t funny. The first comfort stop was mayhem. We had 30 min and were told to grab a snack but we ended up waiting in line for 15 of that so it was stressful. We also couldn’t eat on the bus. I don’t feel like the boat ride was worth 25 euros and the drive back was really long. We also didn’t learn from the guide that the bathroom vouchers gave you a discount if you bought something. I’m glad I went but wished it had been shorter with less people and less talking. The music that was played was lovely though and the bus driver was incredible.
