- Admission to Schonbrunn Gardens is for free parts only. The gardens are not green or lit up in winter, so it’s best to book a morning tour or visit in spring, summer & autumn. In case of extreme weather conditions (such as snow), the gardens will be excluded from the itinerary for the safety of the guests. From 08.11 to 06.01, you will have a chance to visit a local Christmas Market instead.

Very knowledgeable guide - Guide was really knowledgeable. He encouraged us to ask questions and mention anything we were interested in knowing more about. You see a lot of the palace rooms and the beautiful gardens. After that you are free to tour more parts of the gardens on your own or even go to the zoo.

Enjoyable way to see the palace - Peter was a very knowledgeable guide and the tour was well organized. You get earphones while inside the palace so you can hear the information. The tour ended in the garden. I liked having a guide that could answer questions rather than just an audio tour.

Great tour! - Skipping the lines was a huge plus, and our guide made the palace’s history come alive. The gardens were stunning, and everything was well organized. A must-do in Vienna!

Excellent and detailed history of the Hapsburgs and their palace - Doing the group tour was definitely the way to go, as our guide Timea provided so much historical detail and background to everything at the Schonbrunn Palace Complex. She met us before the tour began, so that at 10:15 she could give us about 20 minutes of historical background of the Hapsburg family and their empire's expansion before our group entered the palace for our 10:45 time slot. We had about an hour to go through 22 of the palace rooms, and Timea did a great job of getting us close to the important items in each room. She knew so much about everything that we saw! After the palace tour was completed, she gave us about 20 minutes for a bathroom and gift shop break before doing a tour of the gardens. As it was over 90 degrees, she did her best to keep us in the shade and I appreciated that she didn't cut the outside part short. Without the guided tour, going to the Schonbrunn Palace would have been much less meaningful, so I'm very happy we booked this tour!

Very Informative - Fun and informative tour. The admission was included, so being able to skip the line was a big benefit. Just be aware there is a lot of walking! (Fitbit said I put in over 20,000 steps this day, and I'd estimate that about 8-10,000 of that was the Schonbrunn Palace & Gardens).

Disappointed in the tour but not the palace - The Palace on the inside was worth seeing although the rooms shown were limited. The gardens were disappointing and were not of the standard I would expect. The tour guide did not provide much historical information. Overall I would say it would be better to get your tickets independently and use the standard headphones service.
