Loved the Vienna Pass!! - We recently returned from a European trip that included 3 full days in Vienna. We decided to purchase the 3-day Vienna Pass and were certainly glad that we did. Over 3 days, we went to 23 attractions and rode the HOHO bus several times. We are really good at maximizing our time. To get the full benefit of the pass, you need to group your attractions by location so that you can see a lot of them each day. We were happy to do this and never felt rushed. On Day 1, we picked up the pass at the office and headed straight to the Sisi Museum. Then we did the Spanish Riding School and the Austrian National Library State Hall. We had booked tickets for the Opera House tour that afternoon ahead of time (the Vienna Pass office was very good about responding to my email on how to do that ahead of time before we arrived in Vienna). We also did the Papyrus Museum and the Royal History Through the Years. We tried to find the Habsburg Tour listed in the book and went to several locations but no one seemed to know anything about that so don't waste your time on this one. We also did the House of Music on Day 1. Day 2, we took the subway early in the morning to Schonbrunn Castle. No line ups and no problems getting a ticket. We upgraded by paying 9 Euros each for a more extensive tour of the castle (not needed if you aren't that interested...the Vienna Pass standard ticket actually comes with good access to the state rooms - I was suprised by this based on other reviews I read but I think the Schonbrunn has increased access for VP holders). Also, in the future, you will be able to book a ticket for Schonbrunn ahead of time and not have to show up at the ticket office on the day of (VP is working on this). We also did the Gloriette (well worth it and I would recommend the restaurant at the end of the Glorirette for lunch - it was very good), and the maze, the palm house, the Imperial Carriage Museum, and the zoo. We rode the train at the Schonbrunn and also at the zoo (both covered by the VP). After all that, we took the HOHO to the Upper Belvedere. Day 3, we took the HOHO to the Prater Park where we did the Ferris Wheel, Madame Tussauds and the Prater Museum. We got back on the HOHO and went to the Danube Tower where we had lunch at the revolving cafe at the top (very good food and views). We then took the HOHO to the Kunsthistoriches Museum, walked to the Imperial Treasury and the Natural History Museum. Overall an excellent experience with the VP. No issues at any of the attractions. I enjoyed the HOHO and thought the commentary was good. The HOHO is covered on top which is nice when it's raining but keep in mind that when it's sunny, it gets very hot on the top level as it's almost like a greenhouse. We really liked having the pass and knew that we would have the ability to go into an attraction if we felt like it and could leave if we didn't like it, and it was no big deal since we never really "paid extra" for the attraction. I would gladly purchase the VP again. I understand that it might not be worth it if you are only in Vienna for 1 or 2 days but 3 days was really optimal.

1 say is not enough, use... - 1 say is not enough, use this pass if traveling more than 1 day, the green colored pass would have been cheaper if touring only for 1 day

Great for tourists that want to visit lots of places in a short space of time - Vienna Pass is really useful for travellers wanting to visit as much of Vienna as possible. It's a bit more expensive than other tourist cards but Vienna pass gives free access to lots of places including all the main places. The hop-on, hop-off bus routes are also really practical to get around the city. I would definitely recommend this for tourists wanting to see lots in a short city break.

Extremely disappointing! Not recommended - Extremely disappointing!! We booked 3 days instead of 2 because we only arrived in the afternoon and we wanted to do a city cruise that day..yet booked and reserved ( was mandatory ) on mail was address of the trading kai instead of Schwedenplatzs from which the cruise departed . So taxi costs have to make ( in the evening rush hour 75 euros ) we arrive exactly on time .. the cruise does not appear accessible to us because of private party .. could they not have emailed us then ? Then we wouldn't have had any extra taxi costs. And had I not taken the more expensive 3 day ticket . Hop on hop off bus .terrible ..very low frequency and you could not see what the departure times were (also not on the app)..only 1 ride made with blue line . We had to get off the bus halfway to another bus ..unfriendly staff .. only if you want to go to Schonbrunn and everything there like zoo and palace and gardens etc then it can be rewarding ..my tip ..just book a day ticket OV ..you have much more on . For the 148 euros we paid we could have done more with much less frustration

Not so good for 2 days - For 2 and 125 € days not worthwhile. In addition, a ticket for the public transport must be purchased separately. The Hopp on/of buses are not suitable for getting from a to b because of the long journey time. In addition, they only drive between about 10-18. Some attractions are only moderately recommended and if I had paid the full price, I would have been very annoyed. Not recommended: - Danube navigation (it is only sailing on the canal, scant info, very boring). - House of Habsburg Tour -Maze Schönbrunn Castle (ridiculous) -Gloriette Schönbrunn - Orangery Schönbrunn As a tip: the huge castle garden is accessible to everyone. If you don't want to enter the castle, you can save money here. A visit to the aftermarket is also rather unspectacular. The name arouses notions that are not fulfilled. Recommended was the KHM! Incredibly beautiful museum, with a successful presentation. I would visit that again. Unfortunately, the NKM was closed We also loved the Heidi Horten Collection. Conclusion: Better one less attraction, but more intense. For us, the pass was not really worth it. You want to see a lot and stress through Vienna

Don't pay online - We bought online which caused problems when we only received confirmation of the purchase. We had to go to their headquarters. Even then we did not get paper tickets as they suddenly demanded at a bus.just messy. At Schönbrunn we went on a Panorama tour with a small train, because of the heat. The tour was only among bushes and hedges. We saw almost nothing, except a stop where it was was a nice view. No luck at all in the garden.

Waste of Money - Save your money. Most of the things are only about $15 euros to enter, so you would have to see A LOT of attractions to make it worth it (and most things close at 5:00, and many close for an hour for lunch, and many also are closed certain days of the week). The buses are very infrequent, so you spend a lot of the day standing at a bus stop. You’re better off taking a street car and paying admission. Also, the bus drivers do not check the passes—several people tried to pay as they got on the bus and the drivers just told them to sit down. Cool for them but frustrating for those of us who paid a bunch to have to stand because a family who didn’t pay is sitting. Overall, it was an easy way to see Vienna, but I definitely would not purchase again or recommend to anyone else.

Vienna pass is a rip off - Don't buy the Vienna Pass. It's a pure rip-off. They claim its 24 hours, but its not. It's only good until midnight rhe day of purchae and their customer service reps are rude and comdensending.

Fatal - Very bad resolution of mishaps that can arise in travel. We find the palace of Hofburg closed, for reasons beyond the control of the Viennapass organization, on which we agree completely. What they could have done was announce it so they could organize us differently, and since they didn’t announce it properly, they could have tried to resolve the mishap. Far from this, they tried to justify themselves in 1000 ways, in my opinion absurd and offered us a 10% refund that does not solve at all the fact that we did not see the inside of the castle. We answered that what we wanted was to see the castle and that we were in town for another day, I think it was as easy as having given us the entrance for the next day to the museums that we had not been able to access because of this unforeseeable cause. Finally we pay ourselves, after several emails (translates into lost vacation time) with not very constructive answers we say. We hired vienapass with the aim of making the holiday plan a little easier and a little cheaper, which I think is the goal of this type of thing, and what we achieved was quite the opposite. In short, if you're going to hire him... you'd better not come up with any unforeseen events because they're going to wash their hands completely. Lousy service.
