- Hotel Sacher Wien - On the site of the demolished Kärntnertor Theater, directly across from the newly opened Imperial and Royal Court Opera, a furnished residence was built. The restaurateur Eduard Sacher acquired the building, which was designed to resemble a Renaissance palace, and in 1876 opened the Hotel de l’Opera with a restaurant. The son of Franz Sacher, the inventor of the Sachertorte, Eduard had already made a name for himself in the restaurant business and soon renamed the establishment Hotel Sacher.
- Vapiano - There was a Moulin Rouge in Vienna at three historical locations: before 1911, it was at Weihburggasse 11; from 1920 to 1938, at Weihburggasse 9 on the corner of Liliengasse 3; and only after 1945 at Walfischgasse 11 in Vienna’s Inner City. Each of the three locations has a different history and was not institutionally connected to the others.
