C20th Vienna walking tour - Ricky, our guide was extremely friendly, well informed and a great communicator. He fielded lots of questions and was able to give extra background and insight beyond the curriculum of his tour. Apart from the knowledge and historical significance of the various sites along the way it’s a great way to see the city and great to help you find your own way around later at your leisure. This was a pay-what-you-like tour and well worth the money I gave him.

Vienna is a beautiful city. - Christina was our guide and she was amazing in many ways. Very vivid narrator and very clear and clear in pronunciation in English without German accent. Very knowledgeable about the history of Vienna and Austria.

Excellent walking tour - Very good walking tour. Gundi (hopefully spelt correctly) managed to keep our attention for over 2 hours. Well balanced and engaging tour - mixture of facts interspersed with some funny and interesting stories. All delivered clearly and easy to hear despite it being a large group of around 30 people. Fascinating and humorous insights into the Viennese thinking.

A great introduction to Vienna city - We went on the Old Vienna City tour with Caterina as our guide. She was fantastic - thoroughly knowledgeable, amusing and an all round first rate guide. She took us round places we hadn’t seen on our walks round the city; explained their history and educated us. I would recommend taking this tour on the first day of the trip to Vienna. If you’re lucky enough to have Caterina as your guide not only will you see places to visit later but also get cultural and culinary suggestions to follow up .

Great overview - Well informed guide. Tour provided a solid overview of Vienna’s “old city” and gave me a sense of what to follow up on. Solid introduction to experiencing Vienna.

First acquaintance with Vienna - We travelled with Christopher the guide. Although he arrived slightly late and therefore we were afraid the trip might be cancelled, but after that it was nice and knowledgeable. He made sure to stop and answer questions as long as they arose.

Unfortunately Disrespectful Ending to an Otherwise Decent Tour - We joined this walking tour through a third-party agency in our home country - makemytrip.com. We were charged upfront and not told that this was actually a free walking tour, meaning we had no idea that tipping was the main form of payment for the guide until the very end. While the tour itself was decent, the experience was completely overshadowed by how the guide behaved when it ended. When we offered a tip, modest, but given sincerely. He loudly criticised us, saying something like “You’re three people and this isn’t even enough for a coffee.” It was 5€, because we thought we had already paid for the tour. Furthermore, this was said in front of a group of people and left us embarrassed and uncomfortable - also seemed like this was his objective. This was meant to be a nice family experience during a short visit with my parents, and instead it became an upsetting moment. We would have appreciated a respectful explanation about the tipping expectations, not public shaming. We were not aware of the local norms or that this was a “name-your-price” model, and it felt like a pressure-filled trap rather than a hospitality-based experience. We want the company to know: tips are meant to be voluntary and based on the quality of the service, not demanded. The guide’s attitude was unprofessional and disappointing.

Guide did not show up - The guide for the English language tour did not show up and there was no communication to explain why or to apologise. Very unprofessional.
