This was a very full day... - This was a very full day of activities, bookended by very comfortable travel in the fast express train. My guide, Noy, arranged the pickup from my hotel to allow ample time to arrive at the railway station prior to departure. Once in Vang Vieng, it was a packed schedule. My favourite part was the climb up to Tham Pou Kham cave. This climb is not for the faint hearted and requires a certain level of fitness/stamina, but it's an interesting cave once inside, including a shrine with a Reclining Buddha statue. But be warned: the floor of the cave is very slippery in some places. Noy's knowledge of Laos in general, and the day's attractions in particular, meant that I was always fully informed and never left wondering. Thanks Noy for a very enjoyable tour.

An unforgettable day in Vang Vieng - We had an excellent day with Patoo, he made our day unforgettable, he pick us up at the hotel on time at 630am and we headed to the train station in Vientiane, the ride was about 35 minutes without traffic, we we got to Vang Vieng we had a ride on the long tail boat ad we had a relaxing view of the river at its surrounding, then we headed to the Angel cave and we were surprised with its beauty, we took lots of pictures and had time to do the zip line quite an excellent experience l, we had a very tasty lunch and then headed for the blue lagoon and it was so refreshing, we ended the day climbing to the top of namxay view point and the view from the top was stunning.. the climb was challenging, thank God we are in good shape, at 4pm we took the train back to ventiane and we were at the train station by 5pm, thanks to our guide Patoo for being so nice and for making our day unforgettable.

Vang Vieng highlights in a day. - An enjoyable day trip with our tour guide Viengxay, starting with a comfortable 1 hour train trip from Vientiane, the long boat on the Nam Song river was great with stunning scenery. A walk through the Angel Caves which were beautiful, it was good to have flexibility to add activities, and we added for small cost, a tube ride in another cave, which was a unique way to explore. A visit to the Blue lagoon which was a welcome and refreshing stop on a hot day, we finished the day overlooking the stunning scenery in town, before heading back to Vientiane. Thanks Viengxay for a great day exploring Vang Vieng.

Excellent day trip by train - The trip was great! Our guide Tony was excellent, friendly & informative. We packed a lot into the day which was what we wanted to do. My 1 complaint is that I thought the trip was very expensive. I understand that we had a guide to ourselves for the day, however things like entrance fees are cheap in Laos so the price we paid for 2 people (NZ$700) was rather a lot.
