Hanoi - Ba Be Lake & Kayaking (L, D)

Ba Be National Park - The tour guide will collect you from your hotel in Hanoi at approximately 7:30 AM to drive you to Bac Kan. The journey towards Ba Be National Park will take around 5 hours, with a lunch stop along the way. Upon arrival at Boc Lom pier, you will receive instructions on kayaking, including the use of dry bags, sports gear, and life jackets. From this point, you will continue down the Nang River to explore the expansive Puong Cave by boat and kayak. Afterward, you will cross the Nang River, navigating some steep terrain with numerous cat ear cliffs. Return to Ba Be Lake by motorboat, where swimming is an option. Spend the night at Mr. Linh’s Ba Be - Jungle Lake House and enjoy a BBQ dinner.

Tham Phay Cave Expedition (B, L, D)

Ba Be National Park - At 07:00 - 07:30, you will be picked up from your homestay. A brief introduction and preparation will take place here. After a thirty-minute drive, you will arrive at Tham Phay Cave, where the hike begins with a steep ascent into the forest. The trail includes some rocky areas at the top, followed by a similar descent before fading into the valley. Heading west, you will encounter a large rocky area to navigate with guidance from your guide and safety team. The cave’s entrance is at the forest’s edge. Enjoy some snacks before beginning the cave exploration.

Ba Be National Park - Tham Phay Cave is a stunning stream cave with two underground river branches, featuring narrow passages, rugged mountains, and deep pools perfect for photography. Many calcite formations are covered with plants and algae. As you venture deeper, you will discover unique cave features like the ceiling dome and layered rock walls. You will spend about five hours exploring this 5km deep river cave, which remains largely undiscovered by geologists. Necessary equipment, including helmets and powerful headlights, will be provided. The cave widens significantly beyond the entrance, offering excellent photo opportunities.

Ba Be National Park - Enjoy a few snacks before continuing to explore the second path of the cave system, which boasts miraculous stalagmites millions of years old, hazardous sinkholes, and thermal flows at the bottom. After leaving Tham Phay, you will return to the cave entrance and then to the original pick-up point.
