Day 1

Troll Expeditions - Guests will be collected from their accommodation to embark on an exploration of the countryside, heading towards Iceland’s South Coast.

Seljalandsfoss - The journey kicks off with a pickup in Reykjavík in a cozy minibus, heading directly south. The arrival is marked by the dramatic display of Seljalandsfoss. With a raincoat, visitors can enjoy a brief hike behind the falls. The view from behind the waterfall and the vibrating ground from the cascading water create a perfect Instagram moment!

Skogafoss - Continuing east along the coast, the Skógafoss waterfall awaits. Skógafoss is a breathtaking sight. Nestled in a small gorge, the Skógá River plunges down a 60-meter cliff before flowing towards the Atlantic Ocean. A staircase alongside the gorge leads to a vantage point above the waterfall, offering spectacular views. Try counting the steps on the way up.

Reynisfjara Beach - Further east, the black sand beach of Reynisfjara is visited, where the Atlantic coastline showcases massive waves crashing against unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are visible in the distance. This southern area is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with puffins and numerous other unique species nesting atop these cliffs during the summer months from June to August.

Solheimajokull Glacier - Enjoy a glacier hike! All necessary glacier gear is provided; just bring hiking boots and waterproof clothing (available for rent if needed).

Day 2

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Boat Tours and Cafe - On the second day, the journey continues to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Massive icebergs drift from Breiðamerkurjökull year-round, filling the lagoon with ice that floats south. Tröll Expeditions offers a chance to join a boat ride among the icebergs during summer, providing a closer view of the ancient ice.

Fellsfjara - Across the road, icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean, quickly returning to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is adorned with smaller ice rocks of various shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice, in shades of white and blue, creates stunning contrasts, sure to enhance any Instagram feed!

Reykjavik - Return to Reykjavik’s capital city is expected around 19:00. Drop-off typically takes 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic.
