Your exploration starts at the Eco-Museum, where you can delve into the island’s colonization history, which was heavily influenced by salt exploitation. This salt was exported to various countries, including Brazil, until the 19th century. Following this, visit the Salinas wetland of Porto Inglês to observe the local salt production.
• Morro - Continue your adventure by driving to Morro village, where you can enjoy a traditional breakfast with a local family, featuring the renowned Cape Verdean Cuscuz.
• Praça Calheta do Maio - The tour then moves to Calheta, where you can explore the handcraft center and purchase some unique souvenirs. Proceed to the agricultural and fishing regions, and then to the Morrinho dunes. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the white sand dunes, carried by the wind from the Sahara desert.
