A 40-minute journey from São Paulo’s city center brings you to Jaraguá state park, a haven for exhausted lungs and weary eyes. Here, one can marvel at the panoramic view of the vast expanse of São Paulo lying amidst one of the city’s remaining patches of the Atlantic Forest.
The hike’s primary aim is to ascend to two viewing spots providing an all-around view of São Paulo from a dizzying height of 1,135 meters, enveloped by stunning natural beauty.
The 3,600-meter pathway is nestled mainly in the shade, with terrain difficulty ranging from easy to medium. The path becomes steeper nearing the end. The summit of the mountain is about 90 minutes of slow-paced walk from the park’s primary entrance.
In terms of wildlife, the trail is peppered with small marmosets leaping between trees, capuchin monkeys, toucans, sloths and more, complementing the rich green landscape.
