Interesting - Interesting exhibition for lovers of Lego. I especially liked the Hall of Family. The girls loved everything, including the possibility of building at the end.

Loved the Porto-themed structures! - My fiancé and I are big kids, so we were really excited to visit this exhibit. It was pretty quiet on a Tuesday morning, so we were free to move at our own direction and pace. This is a great place to bring people of all ages, as long as they can resist touching beyond the “no touch” signs. The Lego constructions were incredibly impressive, especially the ones representing parts of Porto. We spent about half an hour before we felt like we’d spent sufficient time in each of the multiple rooms. Bonus: The (paid) parking garage is immediately in front of the building—a big relief on a very rainy day!

A celebration of the imagination for the whole family - Having hosted two world-renowned exhibitions — one with a selection from the prestigious Tate collection and one dedicated to the genius of surrealism, Salvador Dalí — the Atkinson Museum continues to surpass us in its mission to explore creativity in its multiple expressions. This exhibition, "BrickWorld", invites us to discover how the iconic Lego toy has become, over the decades, a medium of artistic creation, design and collective imagination. As soon as we enter, we are transported to the heart of the city of Porto, with the representation of its most iconic monuments such as the Tower of the Clérigos or the Lello Livraria. Soon after, a vibrant diorama - a detailed story where buildings, landscapes and figures combine to create a narratory and cohesive atmosphere. The following is an experimental set of architectural concepts in a tangible and practical way. Among the many proposals presented, we are surprised by a model of the chapel of the apparitions, appropriately located in the old Actinson Chapel. Then, it is the unfolding of the endless historical/chimematographic universe revealed in Lego pieces. And as it could not fail to be on this square, the Christmas theme is also present with its magic. In the end, we must give up the pieces that are placed at our disposal to give way to personal inspiration. “BrickWorld” is thus a celebration of the imagination in its pure state — an invitation, both for grandchildren and grandchildren, to see the gesture of building an act of artistic creation. With this exhibition, the Atkinson Museum promotes the dialogue between tradition and experimentation, art and recreation, reflection and discovery. It is an excellent program to fill a cold winter afternoon in the family.
