Unforgettable UTV adventure in Cartagena - We were very lucky to explore the Fundación Loros with a guided UTV tour – and it was an absolute highlight of our stay in Colombia! Our guide Corina was just great: She explained everything about the animals, the sanctuary and the work of the foundation with a lot of knowledge, passion and patience. You immediately notice how passionate she is about animal welfare.
The UTV ride through the extensive grounds was not only exciting, but also incredibly beautiful – you get up close to nature and learn a lot about the reforestation, the rescued animals and the ecosystem of the tropical dry forest at the same time.
A special experience that we can absolutely recommend – thanks to the whole team and especially to Corina for this unforgettable day!

Royal Shrine of Love and Conscience - Just an hour from Cartagena, we arrived at the Loros Foundation in search of a place to reinsert a lost baby horita that reached my friend’s hands.
The truth is that my imagination and expectations were quite short when we arrived at the place. From the entrance everything was spotless and perfectly marked, the people who received us were very professional and of a great heart. By appointment they received us, gave us a presentation of the place, gave us an exquisite breakfast, all prepared with food sown in the same reserve! The director, Alejandro, told us the story of the foundation, together we ready the food to give to the animals in rehabilitation. He toured the entire reservation in UTV vehicles in perfect condition. We had the opportunity to see several phases in which parrots and macaws are in their process of returning to freedom.
Returning to the baby parrot (Emerald), she received an amazing reception from an older parrot. Seeing this instant adoption and the literal greeting “Hello” from the adult parrot gave me goose bumps and I knew that Esmeralda had arrived at the right place!
We saw the place where the releases of the groups of parrots are made and Alejandro explained to us the raison d'être of each step and each action that is carried out. He has his team of Veterinarians, biologists and scientists all this knowledge accompanied by intuition, experience and love, is reflected in every detail of the Sanctuary, its animals and the trained staff that is part of the parrot foundation.
The scenery is amazing and the air you breathe is pure! We were also able to pick cassava and fruits from the trees.
Parrots are definitely very special beings, this was a fully recommended life experience!

If you want to live a connection experience with animals and nature, visit the parrots foundation! - I am delighted with the whole place! From the beautiful work they do to the service personnel. Foundation parrots is a magical place, full of fascinating stories and colors. I have deep admiration for people who are dedicated to animals finding a place of peace, balance and safety. Alejandro and Álvaro and alfa are of course very good hosts, passionate and proud of everything they have achieved with the animals of the foundation. Do not miss this experience that enriches and cheers the soul!

Wonderful and Amazing Fundacion Loros Bird Sanctuary - Overall we loved the entire experience. I visited Fundacion Loros Bird Sanctuary with my wife and two teenage daughters. We were provided comfortable, private transportation from our hotel to the location.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Paulina who would guide us and explain the goings on. She is a biologist and has a love for birds. We were offered a delicious breakfast including omelet, plantain and fruit and coffee. We also met the other guides and drivers that would accompany us. After breakfast we visited the many birds being lovingly rehabilitated. The birds were incredible, one of them landed on my daughter’s head. That was magical. Then we took an ATV ride which was very cool too. We drove to a place where we chose a small tree to transplant. We loved to help plant the new trees to help the beautiful ecosystem of this place. After that we rode to another area where the birds are released once they are healthy. Also we loved the dog called Happy. She rode with us the entire time. The fact that there were only six of us on the tour made the experience that much more intimate. This is a special place and what the people are doing there is a wonderful blessing.
