The journey to Rainbow Mountain by taxi starts with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco. You will then board private transportation heading south of Cusco. After a two-hour drive, you will arrive in the town of Cusipata, where you can enjoy breakfast independently and gather water and snacks for the hike. Following this stop, the drive continues to the community of Llaqto, a Quechua village situated at 4,800 meters.

Llaqto village marks the beginning of a 1 hour and 40-minute uphill trek to the Arco Iris Mountain, located at 5,100 meters above sea level. Ample time will be spent here to capture photographs of the stunning landscape, which includes red mountains, snow-capped peaks, streams, and the majestic Ausangate, known as the guardian of Cusco. Ausangate is the highest mountain in Cusco and the fifth highest in all of Peru.

Afterward, the return journey follows the same path back to the transport, and then by car to the town of Cusipata. Here, you can have lunch and access hygienic facilities. Following this stop, you will be returned to your hotel in Cusco.
