- Skadar Lake National Park - Experience the vastness of Lake Skadar as you sail on its open waters, witnessing Vranjina and its two peaks emerging from the largest lake in southern Europe.
- Vranjina - Your next destination is the Vranjina Monastery, perched on the southeastern side of Vranjina Island, overlooking the Morača delta. The only remaining church from the former monastery is dedicated to St. Nicholas. Alongside several other monasteries nestled on the shores of Lake Skadar, Vranjina Monastery is part of the Zetska Sveta Gora.
This monastery was constructed with the blessing of Saint Sava in the early 13th century on the site of the original monastery (from 1223). Although it originally included three churches – the Church of Saint Nicholas, Saint Sava, and the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary – only the Church of Saint Nicholas has survived and been restored multiple times.
The ascent to the Church of St. Nicholas offers breathtaking views of the lake and Morača River, with their banks lined by willows. After a ten-minute walk, visitors can reach the church and explore it.
- Lake Skadar - After visiting the monastery, it’s time to return. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit! Take the chance to enjoy the invigorating waters of Lake Skadar.
