The summit of Volcan Baru is reached between 4:30 and 6:00 a.m., depending on the group’s speed. It’s chilly at the top, so dressing warmly is essential. You may need to find shelter until the tour’s highlight: the sunrise! As the sun’s rays begin to illuminate the sky, you’ll be reminded of the reason for the hike. With some luck, both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea can be seen from this vantage point, along with the volcano’s shadow.
