Several beavers inhabit the upper river, making sightings quite likely. Beavers are highly sensitive to sound, with poor vision but excellent hearing. A small splash from an oar can easily scare them away. Therefore, maintaining silence and calmness within the paddling group is crucial during beaver-watching trips. Paddlers are organized into small groups, with a maximum of 4 SUP boards. The optimal time for beaver sightings is in the late afternoon or evening, so paddling excursions typically commence around 5-6 pm during summer, depending on sunset. In winter or early spring, trips may start at 3 pm. The schedule is adjusted based on beaver activity and daylight.
The river is generally shallow. Apart from the murky and dark waters at the start, the riverbed details are easily visible. After heavy rain, there might be some current, but otherwise, the river is calm and ideal for paddling. The tranquility of nature and the melodious birdsong enhance the experience.

Watching a beaver is a truly special experience. The surroundings are exotic, and the river is shallow. Stand-up paddleboarding offers its own unique adventure. While having a specific goal isn’t always necessary, the journey itself is filled with memorable experiences. By paddling a short distance up the river, one can also encounter other wildlife such as goats, ducks, foxes, birds, and highland cattle. Paddling is done in small groups, with a maximum of four paddleboards. While two people can share a board, it is recommended that each adult have their own. Children are welcome to ride on their parent’s board.
Beavers have poor eyesight but excellent hearing, so it’s important to remain quiet and savor the tranquility of the forest during this experience.
