Highlights
- Lawrence’s Spring - This spring is located at the top of a short climb, near a fig tree, approximately 2km (1.2 miles) southwest of the village of Rum. It is named after Lawrence’s vivid description in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom: ‘’In front of us a path, pale with use, zigzagged up the cliff-plinth…From between [the] trees, in hidden crannies of…
- Lawrence’s Spring - This spring is located at the top of a short climb, near a fig tree, approximately 2km (1.2 miles) southwest of the village of Rum. It is named after Lawrence’s vivid description in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom: ‘’In front of us a path, pale with use, zigzagged up the cliff-plinth…From between [the] trees, in hidden crannies of the rock, issued strange cries; the echoes, turned into music, of the voices of the Arabs watering camels at the springs which flowed out three hundred feet above ground’’. While the pool itself is a stagnant puddle and not particularly impressive, the views across the desert are truly breathtaking.
- Al Ramal Red Sand Dune - Among the vast stretches of rust-colored sand in the Wadi Rum desert, the Red Sand Dune, or ‘Al Hasany’ in Arabic, is one of the most renowned. Officially called Al Ramal, it is more commonly known by its descriptive name. It stands out against a cliffside as if it is part of the mountain. The dune’s red color is due to iron oxide, and its fine, soft sand is perfect for walking barefoot.
- Jebel Khazali - Khazali Canyon in Wadi Rum is home to petroglyphs etched into the cave walls, depicting humans and antelopes from the Thamudic era. This narrow canyon features numerous Nabataean rock carvings of people and animals. Jebel Khazali, a peak located in the center of the Wadi Rum Protected Area, opens into a narrow fissure about 100 meters long. Its inner walls are adorned with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, as well as petroglyphs of humans and animals. Noteworthy are the petroglyphs of soles of feet, which likely held religious significance. In 1932, French epigraphist Savignac documented the engravings in the cleft and published some in 1934. The petroglyphs and inscriptions of Khazali Siq form an impressive collection, making it a major tourist attraction in Wadi Rum. At the canyon’s end, there are several man-made rock-cut basins for water collection.
- Wadi Rum Protected Area - Little Rock Bridge: This bridge is easy to climb and offers stunning views across a vast desert expanse. It is easily accessible and safe, making it ideal for families with children and those less comfortable with heights.
- Burrah Canyon - This canyon is unique with its wild fig trees and desert bushes among massive rocks and red and yellow sand. Abu Khashaba Canyon is one of the canyons worth visiting, and it takes about an hour to walk through.
- Um Frouth Rock Arch - A lower rock bridge featured on many tours, it can be easily climbed. The climb takes 5-15 minutes, depending on experience, and offers an amazing view of the surrounding area.

Amazing! - We had an amazing 5-hour jeep tour in Wadi Rum with Mohammed, and it was truly unforgettable. Mohammed is an excellent guide — very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the desert. He made us feel welcome from the first moment and shared so many interesting stories about Wadi Rum, Bedouin life, and the history of the area.
The beauty of the desert is beyond words. The landscapes, the colors, the silence, and the vast open space are absolutely breathtaking. Every stop felt like a postcard, and Mohammed knew the best spots for photos and peaceful moments.
My only regret is that I didn’t spend more time in Wadi Rum. Five hours was not enough to fully enjoy this magical place. If I ever come back to Jordan, I will definitely stay longer and choose Mohammed again as my guide. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Wadi Rum — it was a highlight of our trip.

Best Tour in Jordan! - Awesome tour that I was the highlight of our trip to Jordan! This tour went to so many sites and as we neared the end, we were virtually alone at each site. The guide Mohammed had so many interesting fun facts and answers to any questions that we had about the area whether geography or history and also shared his own personal insights on things making the tour so much better. If you are considering booking a tour in Wadi Rum, this is definitely the one you should book!

5 stars services, just book it! - Our stay with Mohammed in his “cave under the stars” was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Mohammed welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, making us feel completely at ease. The food, served around the fire, was really really delicious and added a magical touch to the evening.
Mohammed shared fascinating stories about his life as a Bedouin, giving us a unique glimpse into his culture and way of life. His genuine hospitality and friendly nature truly made the experience special.
The jeep tour was breathtaking, with incredible views and more of Mohammed’s captivating stories. To top it off, he taught me how to take stunning photos of the stars with my phone—a memory I’ll cherish forever.
