amazing experience in wadi rum desert - Spending time in the Wadi Rum Desert with Ali was one of the highlights of our trip to Jordan. As someone who was born and raised in the desert, Ali has an incredible connection to this place, and you can feel it from the very beginning. With great calmness and experience, he guides his guests through the desert in a very safe and thoughtful way. We visited stunning locations with vast open spaces, impressive rock formations, beautiful viewpoints, and places where you can truly experience the silence of the desert. The scenery is simply breathtaking. Along the way, Ali shared many stories about the desert, his family, and life in Wadi Rum, which made the experience very personal and authentic. You never feel like just another visitor – instead, you feel like a guest being introduced to the desert by someone who truly belongs there. If you want to experience Wadi Rum in a genuine, respectful, and unforgettable way with a true local, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Don't do it. At least until the end of the war - Understanding that we are living through a complex situation with the war, I must say I felt very frustrated with this activity. Upon arrival, the guide took me to his house, and he and his brother began explaining that they earn very little of what one pays through Viator, that I was traveling alone, and that there were no other people in the desert because of the war. They gave me different options, all of them requiring an extra payment (in addition to the $50 I had already paid). Even if I agreed to stay overnight at his house with his family, he expected me to pay 25 JOD on top of what we had agreed upon. It was an uncomfortable situation that could have been avoided because we had been in contact in the days prior, and he never mentioned anything about this. He could have given me the option of booking another tour. Being a woman, alone, in his house, I found it very difficult to deal with being asked for more money for everything, and all I could do was ask them to take me to the desert and leave me to walk alone during the day. Even though I had paid for dinner, breakfast, transportation, and an overnight stay in a Bedouin camp, they offered me tea, but I had to pay for even the water they took me on the hike. I really enjoyed the desert; the part the guide explained was good, but together we only saw Lawrence Spring and the first canyon. In short, I didn't spend the night in the desert and didn't see many places because they didn't take me. I didn't find their way of doing things fair. I paid $50 for a cup of tea and minimal transportation within Wadi Rum.
