Wadi Rum Village - Upon arrival at Wadi Rum Village, guests will be greeted at the Rest House, the first building on the right upon entering the village. Nearby, there is a supermarket, a souvenir shop, and our office. Once all guests have arrived and been welcomed by the guide, the jeep tour will commence, typically around 10:00 AM.
Lawrence’s Spring - This natural water source, with its refreshing water cascading down the mountains, is a favorite spot for camels. Surrounded by small trees and vibrant green moss, it is a true oasis. Visitors can relax here, just as the Bedouins and their herds once did, and watch camels quench their thirst. Alternatively, they can climb the mountain for spectacular views and see numerous Thamudic inscriptions.
Jebel Khazali - Khazali Canyon appears as an ordinary mountain from the outside, but entering the canyon reveals a historical journey. Visitors can observe traces of merchants traveling from Egypt to Damascus and pilgrims en route to Mecca. The canyon features fascinating Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, along with petroglyphs of humans, animals, and footprints.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - The Red Sand Dune is the most renowned sand dune in Wadi Rum, known for its red hue due to high iron oxide content. Although it seems like a simple climb, the soft sand presents a challenge, making it entertaining for locals to watch tourists attempt the ascent. At the top, visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the valley, with the best descent options being running or sandboarding.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Little Bridge is a natural formation in the Khor El Ajram area, formed over years of weathering. Despite being only a few meters high, it offers stunning views and appears impressive in photos. It is ideal for families with children or those preferring a lower climb. After descending, guests can enjoy sweet tea in a Bedouin tent, where they can purchase souvenirs or relax with locals.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Umm Fruth Rock Bridge, standing 15 meters high, is the most famous bridge in Wadi Rum. Although not a historical site, it is perfect for capturing enviable photos. Guides will assist by taking impressive photos from the ground. While locals navigate the bridge with ease, tourists may find it challenging, but small footholds have been added to aid the climb.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Traditional Bedouin Lunch is served in a scenic location, where guides prepare a delicious traditional meal over an open fire. The menu varies daily, featuring warm dishes with vegetables, bread, hummus, yogurt, and other local delicacies. While the meal is being prepared, guests can explore the area or relax and enjoy the Wadi Rum landscape.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Abu Khashaba Canyon offers a pleasant walk through a deep, narrow valley flanked by towering mountain walls. The lush greenery contrasts beautifully with the red desert sand, and visitors can observe various trees, plants, and birds. Locals have hung bottles to collect rainwater for the birds. The peaceful walk takes 30 to 45 minutes, with the guide meeting guests on the other side.
Lawrence’s House - Lawrence’s House holds historical significance in Wadi Rum. Originally established by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago as a caravan stop, it later became known as Lawrence’s House, associated with T.E. Lawrence from “Lawrence of Arabia.” After a short climb, visitors will be amazed by the numerous stone piles, once used by Bedouins as road markers, offering expansive views of the desert plain.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - The White Desert, located further south, contrasts with the red sand of Wadi Rum’s main attractions. This less-visited area offers abundant flora and wildlife sightings. Standing on the white sand, visitors can see the transition to the red desert in the distance, along with differences in landscape, rock formations, and sand texture.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Mushroom Rock is one of Wadi Rum’s many famous rock formations, known for its unique and amusing shape. The mushroom-like appearance results from years of erosion, with the lower part eroding faster than the upper part. Mushroom Rock is a fun spot for photos and provides shelter, as Bedouins once used such formations for respite after long desert treks.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Burdah Rock Bridge, located atop Jabal Burdah, is one of the world’s highest natural rock bridges. During the jeep tour, guests can admire the bridge from a distance. The climb to the bridge takes up to 4 hours and is not included in the jeep tour but can be arranged through a hiking tour or upon request.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Sunset Viewpoint offers breathtaking sunsets, with the best viewing spots known to the guides. Guests are taken to a secluded area to enjoy the panoramic landscape as the sun sets, while sweet Bedouin tea is prepared over a fire. Visitors can relax on a mattress or in the sand, taking in the surrounding beauty.
