Deep insight into Namib desert - We started very early in the morning, at 7 AM. Our driver checked out what was our previous knowledge about the Namib desert and decided to adjust the itinerary accordingly so that we would get the most of our day - the management gave an OK and off we went into the desert. First we encountered thick fog on the road to Windhoek, which slowly dissipated and we could admire the Namib desert. Recently there was a heavy rain (as to Namibian standards) and desert started to bloom. A lot of sites were covered with little grass sprouts blooming and catching the moment to produce seeds for the next generations.
We took refuge in a covered hut among the granite boulders to have our breakfast - homemade muffins with coffee, cappuccino or tea - a nice surprise!
Continued further if maybe we encounter some animals and indeed we did meet some groups of springbok. Our driver/guide is a volunteer of a group that once a year go and tag the vulture babies. He showed the trees where vultures nest and the place where the volunteers camp. In the vicinity we found animals we did not even know they existed - the underground squirrels. Super interesting to see the mother teaching the baby about the neighborhood and how to survive there :)
Further on, we explored the bird nests (a huge nest with about 2 meters in diameter) and were warned about the snakes which may prey on the eggs and little birds there.
It was time for our lunch and in a shade of a desert refuge we had a sip of sparkling wine first. All in all it was our wedding anniversary so thank you for the unexpected bottle :)
The rest of the lunch was consumed in scorching heat of the desert and was a really unique experience ...
Further we went to visit the water-feeding site powered by wind pump. The animals visiting the site are caught on two cameras and a very visited place this is - considered by different species of poo found on the ground around - a poo safari we could call the expedition :)
After seeing many different birds and discovering some unusual flora we proceeded to Swakopmund where the day before we could not visit the Kristall Gallerie. It hosts the largest cluster of quartz crystals ever discovered plus two slightly lesser clusters (14 tons to 11 tons, incredible). They have reproducted the mine shaft where the crystals were found, a workshop shows how the different crystals are cut and polished, plus there is an extensive display of Namibian crystals of all kinds.
One last beer we took on the beach at the Swakopmund Jetty and off we went to Walvis bay. Last visit was the colony of Greater Ibises and from there back to the ship.
I would recommend this tour to any nature lover as Namibian desert is really unique and the guide did everything possible for us to get as much information as possible.

Full Day Landscape Tour - Korbic of Shifting Sands was our driver and guide on a fantastic full day tour of the Namibia Desert Landscape. His knowledge was excellent and was always concerned that we were comfortable, safe and enjoying the tour.
He was realistic and made the tour a great day by adjusting things to suit our interests.
We booked as a private shore excursion and he was always conscious that he needed to get us back on time
Highly recommend

Great excusion - A very good trip, seeing the Namib desert and the unusual landscapes it contains. Only animals we saw were two ostriches in the far distance, but not unexpected. Only disappointment was that our driver's vehicle was not quite large enough to accommodate 3 adults in the rear seat.

Great tour, awesome guide - We booked quite late for this tour, but still had good comms from MC Tours re pick up.
On the day, Kobus was our guide & we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. So passionate about the local environment and very proud of his country. Went out of his way to show us things off the beaten track & passed on a huge amount of knowledge.
We were lucky to see some wildlife (Ostrich & Springbok) but realise there’s no guarantee of that. Very diverse landscapes throughout the day, highly recommend this tour

Excellent tour, one of... - Excellent tour, one of the best we've had so far. Guide absolutely knowledgable, even in German. Wonderful experience, unspoilt nature.

Superb experience, not to be missed! - The whole content of the tour by Kobus was superb. His knowledge and obvious love for the country came through at every turn. Particularly memorable was the moon landscape which drew gasps of surprise.

It's a must-see. - Coastal desert
Dead Valley
As expected, it is a World Heritage Site.
It wasn't very famous in Japan but the view was great.
Incidentally, I was surprised when I showed my photo to the Namibian sitting next to me on the Ethiopian Airlines flight home.

Shore Excursion with a real WOW factor! - We had a fantastic day with Kobus in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. We were well suited to one another as our interests were in nature and photography. There's not much else in that area and we were delighted with the coffee and lunch breaks. Anyone can go to a restraunt (except in the area we were!) but we enjoyed nature while eating. A most enjoyable day with lasting memories. While the majority of the ship folks stayed relatively close to the ship, we went about 350 km (round trip) and saw so much more of Namibia.

A good tour at the end of a chaotic arrival in Walvis Bay - Our ship was very late arriving, but Michael kept in touch the whole time, & the tour vans & guides were ready to whisk us away into the desert. The guides were very knowledgeable, & passionate, about the nature to be found in the national park, & were only too willing to share this knowledge, or answer questions about their homeland. We had lunch in the shade of a tree, (one of the few shady trees to be found in the desert)consisting of local meats, with local beer & a delicious sparkling wine.
We were lucky enough to sight giraffe ostrich, jackal, butterfly in the desert, and also had time to see flamingos at the beginning of the tour. The guides managed to fit a lot into the limited time we had available, between our late arrival, & the constraints of our departure. The vehicles were air conditioned, and very comfortable to travel in.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company, and this tour
