- Walvis Bay - Walvis Bay is a coastal port town in Namibia. Protected by the Pelican Point sand spit, its tidal lagoon hosts a rich variety of birdlife, including flamingos, pelicans, and Damara terns. The harbor is bustling with fishing vessels and ships. The Atlantic waters around the Pelican Point Lighthouse are home to dolphins, whales, and Cape fur seals. To the east, coastal sand dunes such as Dune 7 signal the beginning of the Namib Desert.
- Swakopmund - Swakopmund is a German settlement on Namibia’s coast from the early 1900s, just before World War I. Located 30km north of Walvis Bay at the mouth of the Swakop River, it is affectionately known as “Little Germany” by many travelers. The architecture in the old part of town is distinctly German.
During your private tour, you will witness the stunning dune belt, and a brief stop at Dune 7 will allow you to experience the sand firsthand.
In Swakopmund, there is no fixed itinerary, offering a wide range of activities. A highlight on every tour is the Railway platform, now transformed into a luxury hotel. From there, options include visiting the Steam Tractor “Martin Luther,” the Swakopmund Museum at the lighthouse, or the Kristall Galerie, which houses the largest quartz crystal.
There are numerous historic buildings to admire, but if that’s not your preference, you can stroll through the quaint streets to shop and explore. If you wish to relax in a coffee shop, that can be arranged as well. Simply inform your guide of your preferences for Swakopmund, and they will accommodate your wishes.
Please remember that if you wish to purchase any souvenirs in Swakopmund, you will need a copy of your passport.
You will enjoy some free time for shopping and a city tour.
