Vendors arrange their goods along active railway tracks, with fresh produce, fabrics, cooking supplies, and more positioned just inches from the track’s edge, and sometimes directly on the tracks. Witness the fascinating scene as the train approaches: vendors swiftly gather their items and lower their canopies, while both vendors and shoppers step aside to allow the train to pass through the market. Once the train has gone, business resumes seamlessly! Between train schedules, your guide will introduce you to traditional Thai foods, including desserts, snacks, and fresh fruits. The tour continues with a short drive to a palm sugar plantation, where you’ll visit a villager’s home to see traditional palm sugar production. Thailand is home to numerous coconut palm tree plantations, and the art of crafting organic palm sugar from coconut flower nectar has been handed down through generations.

• Damnoen Saduak Floating Market - Next, board a small boat for a journey through narrow village canals to the renowned Damnoen Saduak floating market. Keep your camera ready, as this location offers endless photo opportunities. If something catches your eye during the boat ride, inform your guide, and you can stop to chat with vendors and make purchases to take home or enjoy on the spot.

After disembarking, explore more of the market on foot. Discover a variety of Thai foods, including seasonal tropical fruits from local orchards, and souvenirs available on both riverbanks.

Around noon, the tour will return to Bangkok, dropping you off at the meeting point next to the BTS (Skytrain) station National Stadium. Your local guide will gladly provide directions back to your accommodation or suggest other must-see attractions.

• Local Impact: How you will help the local community by joining this tour: Instead of visiting one of the many palm sugar plantations that have been set up for tourists to see and learn about the process, we visit a local family at their village plantation where they make palm sugar daily throughout the year. The family have been here for generations and bringing our small groups provides some additional income for them.
