• Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall - This significant historical landmark in Taiwan was built in honor of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China. Opened in 1980, it is part of a national park and gathering area.

The expansive complex includes Liberty Square, the National Theatre, and the Memorial Hall, where visitors can witness the guard exchange ceremony.

• Dihua Street - Since the 1850s, Dihua Street has been a vital hub for Taiwanese commerce, offering products like Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and post-processed Taiwanese tea.

• Dalongdong Bao An Temple - Initially built in 1742 as a wooden shrine, Bao’an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. It has undergone numerous renovations and reconstructions throughout Taiwan’s history, earning a UNESCO cultural heritage conservation induction in 2003.

• National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine - Established in 1969, the complex features the main shrine and the renowned guard changing ceremony. While many visitors leave after the ceremony, it’s worth exploring the beautiful Chinese architecture inside.

• National Palace Museum - Originally founded in Beijing’s Forbidden City in 1925, the National Palace Museum moved to Taipei’s Shilin District after the Republic of China government relocated in 1949, opening to the public in 1965. Over 600,000 precious artifacts were transferred to Taiwan to protect them during and after the Chinese Civil War.

• Taipei 101 - Once the tallest building in the world (2004-2010), this iconic Taiwan landmark offers the option to visit the observation deck on the 89th floor (at your own expense) or enjoy the view from the surroundings (free).

A 40-minute hike along the stairs is required (25 minutes up, 15 minutes down), but the view from the top is unparalleled in Taipei City.
