Location
300 7th St SE
7th Street Southeast
Meet your guide at the corner of 7th and C St Southeast; by the historic marker sign (it says Tour of Duty Stop 16 at the top!) outside the restaurant "the Duck and the Peach" - we do not eat here and are not affiliated with the restaurant but it is a good landmark to find the meeting spot.

Good food, good conversation! - This was a neighborhood I have always wanted to visit but had no reason and I got overwhelmed with where to eat - this solved that problem! Canden took us to great places to samples to get a sense of the neighborhood. I loved looking at the neighborhood houses while we walked around.

The food tour at the... - The food tour at the Eastern Market is also a history tour, because DC and it's delicacies are best understood the historical context, and the tour planners understand that fact. What a great way to get acquainted with the area! Becca is the consummate tour guide, the perfect choice to introduce us to the area. She has a wonderful positive energy that we'll remember when we think back on the day.

A Local Exploring Their Own City - As a DC local I love exploring a neighborhood and its food. It is always nice to be a tourist in your city, a few friends of mine gathered together and instead of making our own plan, we went with a tried and true company that I've used in several cities around the globe. Eastern market had lots to offer and this is a not to miss tour for any foodie visiting Washington DC

Terrific Tour of Eastern Market - This was a great experience! It would be easy to just go to Eastern Market and buy stuff on my own. What made the tour so fascinating was that our guide shared the history and culture of the neighborhood and the role it’s played in D.C. and U.S. history. I recommend this tour even if you think you don’t need it.

Terrible communications - I booked and paid for this tour on 8 April for 18 April. As I didn’t receive any confirmation email (as promised on their website’s booking confirmation screen), I emailed asking for the confirmation. As I didn’t receive a response, I emailed again on 16 April, referring to my earlier email and asking for confirmation as I would be travelling from overseas the next day. I eventually received a cancellation email on 17 April which made no apology for ignoring my two previous emails but explained that the tour was cancelled as I was the only ticket holder. It was too late for me to book an alternative tour with another provider. While I understand that it can be uneconomic to run a tour for one, other providers make this clear up front and allow you to make a reasoned choice. They do not take your money and cancel at the last minute. In addition to this, I paid £77.82 but was only refunded £74.98. As my credit card charges no foreign exchange fees, I assume that they were cheeky enough to charge me their fees! Shameless!
