The tour continues to the British Victorian & Federalist architecture, a National Historic Landmark named after King George II of England in 1751. - Georgetown University - The first of four scheduled stops is at Georgetown University, established in 1789. The tour guide will share significant insights while exploring the campus and classrooms of this 18th-century Catholic Jesuit institution.

Georgetown - (Drive by without stopping - 20 min.)
The tour proceeds through the vibrant heart of Georgetown, featuring dazzling shops, bohemian taverns, and fine dining establishments. En route to the Kennedy Center, the iconic Watergate building is passed, known for the 1972 Democratic Party office bugging attempt that led to President R. Nixon’s resignation in 1974. - John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts - The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts serves as the United States National Cultural Center. Named in 1964 as a living memorial to the 35th President, this stop includes visits to the Hall of Nations, Hall of States, and the grand foyer, where the eight-foot bronze bust of JFK by American sculptor Robert Berks is displayed.
As JFK famously stated, inscribed on the river terrace walls, “This country cannot afford to be materially rich and spiritually poor.”
- U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial - For those opting not to walk to The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the United States Marine Corps War Memorial is an alternative. Visitors will see Arlington’s shrines while driving through and can stop at the renowned bronze sculpture depicting six marines raising the flag on Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima on 2/19/1945. While the scene represents a pivotal World War II moment, the memorial honors all Marines who have sacrificed their lives for the United States since 1775.
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial - Conveniently located at 1964 Independence Ave SW, this stop offers a perfect view of the Jefferson Monument across the Tidal Basin. Completed on August 22, 2011, the memorial celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy of non-violent advocacy for freedom, justice, and equality. As the first African American individual honored on the National Mall, this site invites reflection on his legacy and the beauty of Cherry Blossom trees in spring. (15 min)
- Lincoln Memorial - Dedicated on May 30th, 1922, this neoclassical temple, designed by American Beaux-Arts Architect Henry Bacon, honors the 16th President of the United States. Visitors can stand on the Memorial steps and view the George Washington Monument’s reflection in the west side mall pool’s shallow waters.
Before returning to the hotel or a chosen restaurant to conclude the elegant evening, the tour will pass by other illuminated memorials, including the south side of the White House, known as the Truman Balcony.

- World War II Memorial - Dedicated in 2004, this expansive stone plaza, designed by architect Friedrich St. Florian, features a ring of columns representing the U.S. states and territories, united by a bronze cord symbolizing their collective effort. It honors those who sacrificed to restore freedom and end global tyranny.
