There are five peaks in Mt.Hua, each peaks endows different features. As you only have one day available, we would suggest you focus on some of these peaks and take cable car up and down. There are mainly four routes available for you.
Route 1: West Peak cable car up and down (Best and most recommended)
Time for hiking: 1-1.5 hours;
Time for cable car: 20 mins on the West Peak Cable car and hike about half an hour to the West Peak summit. Only cover one peak and get down.
Reason for recommendation: Easiest way to get up the mountain accompanied by the best natural views;
Disadvantage: high cost on cable car and shuttle bus.
Route 2: West Peak cable car up and down
Time for hiking: 4-5 hours, suit for mountaineers;
Time for cable car: 30 mins hike to the West Peak summit first, then go counterclockwise to South Peak for about an hour, following which is another 1-1,5 hours hiking to the East Peak and eventually further 1.5-2 hours’ hiking back to the West Peak by passing the Middle Peak. Take the cable car and get down.
Disadvantage: Too strenuous for ordinary hikers. Your guide will only escort you for some time to impart the important history and culture facts about the mountain. You will have to cover the rest on your own.
Route 3: West Peak cable car up and North Peak down
Time for hiking: 2.5 hours;
Time for cable car: 30 mins cable car to Weak Peak, hike about 2.5 hours down to the North Peak, from where take cable car down.
Reason for recommendation: Better view, not too pricey.
Route 4: North Peak cable car up and West Peak cable car down
Time for hiking: 3.5 hours;
Time for cable car: Take North Peak cable car up and you will need to hike about 3.5 hours to get to the West Peak cable car station, where you will take cable car down.
Please decide the route you are most interested in based on your own physical conditions and habit, then ask your tour guide to purchase the tickets for you accordingly. While you are appreciating the stunning landscape and breathtaking wooden structures, your tour guide will provide detailed information about the mountain facts, history, culture, mystery and the Taoism.
You will be led to the old temples to admire the sculptures, and life style of Taoism monks.
After the hiking, you will be dropped off hotel in Xian city for rest.
