• Switched on Bikes - This is the starting point of the tour. Participants will have time to set up and familiarize themselves with their bikes.
• Wellington Waterfront - The ride begins at the Wellington Waterfront, heading towards Oriental Bay. On sunny days, the Waterfront is lively, and the ride takes place on shared paths.
• Kupe Statue - The first stop on the tour offers an intriguing story about New Zealand’s first inhabitants from nearly a thousand years ago. Discover Wellington/New Zealand Māori culture and history throughout the tour.
• Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa - The tour passes by Te Papa Museum, one of Wellington’s top attractions, so participants know where to visit after the bike tour.
• Solace In The Wind - Pose with this iconic and poetic statue on the waterfront while the guide shares stories about Wellington’s legendary wind. Don’t miss a photo with the striking Wellington sign!
• Oriental Bay - The tour continues past the vibrant Oriental Bay, where locals enjoy swimming and sunbathing on summer days.
• Hataitai Beach - This is the stop for tea or coffee, with the nearby Cog Park offering a stunning backdrop for photos with the harbor and yachts.
• Zephyrometer - Take a rest break and admire Wellington’s iconic wind needle. Observe the 85-foot wind sculpture swaying and learn about New Zealand’s innovative energy system.
• Evans Bay Sculpture Trail - Enjoy viewing unique wind sculptures while cycling along a beautiful path. Keep an eye out for marine life like dolphins, penguins, or even Orcas, and marvel at aircraft landing overhead near Wellington’s Airport.
• Maupuia Walkway - Experience a wonderful lookout over Wellington’s bays.
• Te Wharewaka o Poneke - This culturally significant building features a statue of Kupe outside. Learn about Māori culture and their ancestors’ journey to Pōneke (Wellington) and Aotearoa (New Zealand). The Wharewaka houses beautifully carved waka (canoes).

Choose a Morning or Afternoon Departure. From the centrally located Waterfront to the quiet bays and panoramic lookouts, you’ll be enthralled from start to finish. These quality electric bikes are easy to use and suitable for any level of fitness. If you can ride a bike, you can ride an eBike! Your guide will keep you safe with helmets provided and full riding instruction. The tour is lighthearted, fun and engaging with the focus on riding and finding the best view points. You’ll get a local’s perspective on the culture and history of our vibrant city and surrounding bays. This tour mainly rides around the Wellington’s stunning bays, with minimal city riding.

• Riders must be comfortable riding a bicycle on the road (mix of path, on-road cycle lane and regular roads)
• Riders must advice height if under 59 inches (150cm)
• Remember sunscreen in summer
• Please dress appropriately- bring an extra layer in case or wind
• Moderate fitness advised- pedalling activates the electric assist
• Age Restriction: 13 Years
• The tour requires a minimum of two people to operate. We will contact you prior to your tour time if the minimum number is not met.
• Riders should be comfortable with some physical exertion when riding electric bikes up hill
