- Firehole Canyon Drive - Firehole Canyon Drive is a 2-mile, one-way road branching off the Grand Loop south of Madison. This drive features a waterfall overlook and a swimming area.
- Fountain Paint Pot - On the Fountain Paint Pot Trail, visitors can observe various hydrothermal features that showcase Yellowstone’s active volcanic nature. These thermal features are categorized into those with abundant water (hot springs and geysers) and those with limited water (mudpots and fumaroles). Despite their structural similarities, each feature is unique.
- Grand Prismatic Spring - Situated in the Midway Geyser Basin, Grand Prismatic Spring is the park’s largest hot spring, measuring about 370 feet (112.8 m) in diameter and over 121 feet (37 m) deep. It was first described by fur trapper Osborne Russell in 1839, making it the earliest identifiable thermal feature in Yellowstone.
- Old Faithful - Located in Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin in the park’s southwest section, Old Faithful offers the most accessible and visitor-friendly geyser-viewing area, complete with bench seating, a large parking lot, and a ranger station that monitors eruption times, heights, and durations to predict the next eruption.
- Hayden Valley - Hayden Valley is a vast, sub-alpine valley in Yellowstone National Park, spanning the Yellowstone River between Yellowstone Falls and Yellowstone Lake. The valley floor is an ancient lake bed from when Yellowstone Lake was much larger. While driving through Hayden Valley, visitors may encounter Bison, Elk, Wolves, Grizzly Bears, River Otters, and many other animals.
- Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River showcases the park’s intricate geologic history with its vibrant colors and formations. Steam puffs indicate hydrothermal features in the canyon walls. The Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River enhance the splendor of this natural wonder. Visitors can experience the canyon from various overlooks, at different times of day, and across seasons. Numerous trails and walkways meander along the rims and partially into the canyon.
- Artists Paintpots - The Artists’ Paintpots Trail, a 1.1-mile lollipop loop, provides an opportunity to view some of Yellowstone’s most iconic features in a short time. The trail consists of a mix of dirt and boardwalk with a 125-foot elevation gain.
