Best birthday bucket list trip ever! - So amazing!! Such a beautiful ride. Pete and the team did such a great job entertaining everyone but also keeping us safe. The ride was smooth, super long and such great value for money, they really take care of you. Once in a lifetime experience, honestly don’t hesitate. It’s an early morning, rug up but you forget about the cold when you’re up in the air. Thanks team!

Pleasant balloon flight on a winter morning. Good, but unspectacular. - Overall, the experience was comfortable and pleasant. We had done a flight earlier in Turkey on a winter; this one was not as exciting. And we had to do some "work". Pre-flight arrangement: The final instructions came only the previous evening, while we were away at another sight-seeing spot. Despite asking 3-4 times, the team didn't confirm whether the details I filled earlier were adequate or accepted. Also, since the reporting at the interim transfer point at Perth was at 4:15 am, we had to wake up really early (2:45 am) and get ready for the transfer from our hotel to this point. The organisers could have picked us up directly from the hotel. Finally, we had to wait for extra 45 minutes for one guest who came very late; unfair for those who came on time. Transfer to the next interim station (Dome cafe, Northam) took nearly 90 minutes; we reached at 6:30 am. At 6:45 am we headed to the final take-off field. Some coffee and a biscuit would have helped, though. Preparing to take off: All guests had to pitch in to make it seem like a team-building exercise. We were reluctant, but joined in since the take-off was getting late. We finally took off at 7:05 am, just before the sunrise which was at 7:08 am. The ride: Good, though not spectacular. It was smooth, comfortable and no worries at all. The pilot was an experienced hand, and regaled us with his narration and also answered our Qs. It wasn't as cold as the ground level temperature (3 C), nor was it at a great height; we touched 800 feet. Surprisingly, and disappointingly so, there were only 2 other balloons that day. We drifted for nearly an hour and returned to ground at 8:05 am. Post ride work: Again, we all had to participate to roll up and pack the balloon, before we left for breakfast at nearly 9 am. We went back to the last spot (Dome cafe, Northam), and the breakfast was a hearty spread. At about 10:15 am we started for the transfer station back in Perth. And then onwards to our hotel, which we reached at nearly noon.
