Great day out - Great day out with our 8 year old son while on holiday in Weymouth!
We managed to get our tickets cheaper as we took advantage of the midweek deal that was on at the time of booking so well worth the money!
A great variety of sea animals all laid out in an easily accessible way. Lovely playpark and other facilities / cafe etc.
Very knowledgable staff and every half an hour or so there was a different talk and feeding experience which was always fun to watch.
A great day out for us!
Just to note parking is not included in the price as the car park is for Lodmoor park, Sea Life Centre and mini golf so you have to pay extra for this. 4 hours was £7.90

Otters! - Me and my partner came for the conservation evening. Have to commend Lottie, who recognised us from previously being our guide for the otter experience which was almost a year ago. She was so kind and thoughtful and shared our joy at being able to see the not-so-baby otters again. The addition of the feeding tunnel for them was genius!! Thanks Lottie 🩵

Very worth a visit - Went today and after visiting a few different sealife centres this is by far the best one I have visited. The staff were very helpful and informative. Very big and with children could easily spend a whole day as there is a splash pad as well as a playground in the grounds.
Highly recommend it even if you have been to other sealifes.

Good day out - Last time we went the kids were small but years later we decided to revisit and was a good day out. Very relaxing. Good splash and pool area if you have little ones

Late entry not a good idea - This was a trip for my 10 year old grandson who is staying with me in Weymouth. I booked a late, 3.30 visit as the weather is very hot and hoping to be cooler. We arrived promptly. We went direct to see the seals being fed then worked our way round via otters, penguins etc to the water fun area at 4.30. This was mostly shut down so my grandson was disappointed as he had bought trunks and towel. We left just before 5 feeling we were cheated somewhat. It was a lot of walking for me at 76 and I was looking forward to a sit down at the end to watch Jack playing in the water.

Mediocre at best... - Honestly not worth the money. The food options were average but mostly processed and not good for my little ones. As well as this food is very overpriced and not worth buying!!! My older child was very bored as there was no activities for older children.
Although they had a wider variety of animals than we've seen at other venues (sea life is a staple for us) if not the numbers. The site is clean and nicely laid out and the addition of the splash pad and the splash pool make it attractive when it is sunny - expect that area will be very busy though.

NOT AN INDOOR ATTRACTION! - We booked using clubcard vouchers, so avoided the fairly steep ticket prices - £70 - 78 for 2A 2C. It was fairly busy because it was half term, but it is important to know that this is not like other sea life centres - it's largely outside, with only the exhibit areas under cover. The weather was really wet and a number of people who we chatted to on the way round had booked it because they thought it was an indoor attraction. Consequently the parts that were indoor were heaving. Pushchairs and wheelchairs had no chance and although the majority of people were polite enough there was still pushing and shoving.
Grumbles aside, Weymouth sea life has a wider variety of animals than we've seen at other venues (sea life is a staple for us) if not the numbers. The site is clean and nicely laid out and the addition of the splash pad and the splash pool make it attractive when it is sunny - expect that area will be very busy though.
All in all, a good visit, and arguably free (thanks, Tesco), so weather notwithstanding we'd recommend it.

Lacklustre and downright worrisome - While we may have visited with family for nostalgic reasons we noticed immediately that the tanks were often quite dirty, and a majority of the larger animals appeared significantly more sombre than expected.
In particular, the seals did not seem entirely comfortable, and while we are not experts on seal welfare, the tanks appeared small for the number of animals, and the absence of toys or enrichment items contributed to a somewhat subdued environment.
Considering the admission price, the experience did not fully meet our expectations, and we were somewhat underwhelmed, as we completed our visit in approximately an hour.
Additionally, slightly off topic, but for an establishment that houses axolotls and sells axolotl merchandise there was a distinct lack of signage. As a result, a family that entered just after us was confused about what they were and ultimately referred to them as large newts, which makes some sense given their proximity to frogs. This was a missed opportunity to highlight their endangered status in the wild and their presence in the rainforest exhibit was questionable at best. Not to mention their tank features a strange convex lens over it, which makes photography difficult and causes distortion.
While not directly related to my primary concerns, I was somewhat disappointed, as axolotls have become quite popular in recent years. A younger relative of mine was particularly enthusiastic and requested that I take several photos since he was unable to attend himself.
Attached is a photo of the distortion caused by the glass. I did not take any pictures of the tanks' cleanliness, as I wasn’t planning to write a review until prompted at the exit, so you'll have to trust my judgement.
Additionally, the high ticket prices and costly parking fees tend to outweigh the mild entertainment offered by the attractions.
Overall, most children likely won't be affected by the lacklustre conditions and the numerous play areas will keep them preoccupied. However, I would still not recommend, as the experience has raised concerns regarding the well-being of the animals. Steer clear.

Not great value for money - Take note the splash pool facilities close an hour before the rest of it. Absolutely no mention of this on entry or with any signage. Entered at 2pm and paid over £60 for the 5 of us. Kids excited to play in splashpool at end only to find it closes at 4 an hour before the rest of it.
Very disappointed and seems petty to close early for no reason especially on a spring bank holiday wknd.
