See it to believe it! - My wife and I had watched 3 part video about 10 years aga about the construction of the distillery. We loved it and are a huge fan of the Bombay brand. We always had plans to visit and finally planned it as part of out recent trip to the UK. We stayed in nearby Winchester, a nice little town. We apent 2 weeks in the UK but the trip to Laverstoke was one of the top highlights. We booked the mixology class but i had no idea how fantastic it would be. We learned to make 3 different cocktails and the techniques that we were taught are a game changer. We cant wait to meet with oir friends and show them all that we now know. The staff at the distillery are amazing. Alice was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Bombay and the evolution of gin in general. She was very entertaining throughout the tour. The onsite Gin bar was very excellent and the gift shop was exceptional. Laverstoke is so beautiful and packed with historical features. Even if you dont drink gin o would highly recomend a trip to the see it. We will definately include this in our next UK trip.

Amazing visit to an amazing, beautiful, and ecoconscious facility. - The distillery is beautiful, architecturally and naturally. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about its history and about the art of distilling gin. She answered everyone’s questions well and, on one occasion, was quite comfortable apologizing for not knowing (extra kudos for honesty).

A little Gem in Hampshire - We had a fantastic experience!! the setting is absolutely stunning. The combination of the historic mill buildings and the striking modern glasshouses makes for truly beautiful architecture. It's nestled in the idyllic Hampshire countryside, which only adds to the charm. The tour itself was really interesting and well-organised. All the staff were helpful and welcoming throughout, but a special ‘shout out’ goes to Joe on the bar, he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and really made the end of our experience memorable. His enthusiasm and cocktail recommendations rounded off the visit perfectly.

Gin Joy - What a lovely tour and experience, loved learning all about Bombay Sapphire and the history. Gin and Tonic was obviously very nice and happily picked up a couple of bottles in the shop at the end

Great tour , however…. - Great tour, really interesting with lots to see, guide was very engaging. Lots of local history as well as gin and Bombay Sapphire history However G&T that is included needs to be drunk fairly quickly at the start of the tour. Also other distillery tours offer a discount in the shop or bar (or both). The bar is very expensive

Average tour in a beautiful location - The distillery is set in a lovely rural setting and that, along with the fact the tour guide was kind and knowledgeable carried the tour. There isn't much substance or history in the tour because there isn't really any for the brand. Bombay Sapphire came to the site in the 2010s and only infusing the alcohol with botanicals is done on site. You only get one G&T and no tasting so you don't have to worry about who drives. On a sunny day you could sit and have a great afternoon with cocktails but I've been on much better and more informative tours. It depends how interested you are in the history and distilling process!

Mixed Opinion as there's no gin "history" here & it's all a bit artificial. - There is no long-term legacy/history here. It's a modern positioning play. It's important to know that Bombay Sapphire is really a new-ish company that was launched by Diageo in 1985, and was bought by Bacardi in 1996. In the early 2000s Bacardi went looking for an historic place to artificially make Bombay Sapphire appear older & venerable - ultimately buying this old paper mill in 2010 & opening it in 2014. The base spirit is not made here, the water is not sourced here, it's not bottled here... the only thing that happens if the neutral spirit is infused. So what do you really get on this tour? A free sample of the gin, a tour of the old paper mill grounds (almost fully external), and some insight into the botanicals they use to infuse the spirit. Then there's a gift shop. Credit is due for making the location attractive, but there's no history here - it's essentially an artificial construct to create a sense of legacy that is not real.

Poor value although interesting, miserly single measure drink so dearest bar in South of England. - I enjoyed the tour however the cost was expensive considering the returns. The distillery makes a large amount of money of its shop and the tour although good is about 45 minutes long with a single measure Gin & Tonic drink. Its not so long ago that a similar tour in a whiskey distillery in Scotland would have been for free. The main aim of the tour isn't for education and engagement with G&T fans its to extract cash. No as a cost value experience it was poor. I did enjoy it but I felt ripped off.

It’s a fake! - It’s a nice place to sip a gin cocktail. However, it’s not cheap and, most disappointingly, it’s not real. It gives the impression it’s a quintessential piece of English history. However, the fact is, Bacardi only bought the land a few years ago in order to create a tourist attraction. Yes, the gin is made there. But, the buildings were previously a paper mill. Maybe it will be better in another 100 years or so, once it’s had the chance to develop its own history. Meantime, it’s more akin to a theme park.
