You’ll see giant volcanic boulders at the opening of Black Canyon and crystal clear emerald water beneath you as you paddle along. Enjoy a health-conscious gourmet lunch on a remote beach, while possibly seeing the local wildlife such as desert bighorn sheep, osprey, falcons, bald eagles and great blue heron in their natural setting! Black Canyon, about an hour drive from the Las Vegas Strip, is located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Your kayak tour begins in the morning when you arrive at Willow Beach, Arizona where you will meet your Wilderness First Aid/CPR trained guide for a safety briefing. This tour is designed for beginners to advanced paddlers alike and you can choose between self-drive to the departure point or shuttle transportation from select Las Vegas hotels.

Combine the history of Black Canyon with the beauty of Emerald Cave on this guided kayak tour. You’ll paddle between 4-6 miles on the Colorado River, enjoying time for photo ops on the crystal clear water, stops to admire the scenery and you’ll also learn a little about the historical sites in the canyon. Make a stop at a small beach for a deli-catered lunch and a swim in the cool waters before making your way back to Willow Beach. You can choose between self-drive to the departure point or a shuttle from select Las Vegas hotels.
- We offer single or tandem (2 seater) kayaks. Please specify which kayak you would prefer.
- The Emerald Cave is a small cutout of the mountain for a great photo op!
- If you select self drive option, you will be meeting us at the marina. Have reliable transportation to meet us, there is NO cell service at the marina to call a ride share.
- If you have chosen and paid for this tour with shuttle, pick up times are: Venetian 110 minutes before, Bellagio 100 minutes before and Mandalay Bay 90 minutes before your tour start time

Awesome kayaking day! - Had a fantastic day! Saw a blue heron, bald eagle and big horn sheep. The water and canyon are beautiful. Our tour guide Faith was amazing!! Highly recommend this adventure.

All Day Tour Amazing w Faith!!! - This all day tour was more than an amazing experience. If you are physically fit and enjoy an outdoor challenge this is the trip. Faith was a phenomenal guide, stopped to point out features, creatures and provided an amazing history lesson all day long! 5 of 5 possible stars for the entire day.

Excellent Outing & Guide - Absolutely perfect day, great weather, excellent paddle conditions & beautiful scenery. Burton was an ideal guide, as he was a lifelong local, well versed in geological, environmental, historic development and most entertaining as he shared these as well as lots of information on the wildlife & indigenous plants and peoples! The small group size was excellent, as we got to know the other paddlers during the time on the river as well as a really good lunch. The Emerald Cave was stunning and nearly dwarfed by the sunset vistas as we returned to our launch site!

5 Star Tour to see Emerald Cave with Evolution Expeditions - We had an awesome trip with our guide Ryan. He shared a lot of good information about the flora and fauna along with some area history. The local big horn sheep appeared to be hiding from us, so he made a quick stop on the way back where the big horn sheep were likely to be. He clearly enjoys what he does which made our trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Evolution Expeditions and Ryan.

Highlight of our Las Vegas trip! - My sister and I had a fabulous time on this tour. Kristin provided great customer service from start to finish - she promptly replied to all of my questions and was super helpful when I needed to change our tour date at the last minute. Our guide, Maggie, was delightful! She knew so much about the river and the history, took us on a little hike and taught us about some of the plants, very competent with the kayak and gave clear directions about how to operate the kayaks (which were clean and in great shape). Maggie also carried a bunch of snacks for us as well as ensuring that we had plenty of water to stay hydrated. We had opted for the lunch and enjoyed a little picnic on one of the banks after seeing the emerald cave. We also enjoyed meeting and chatting with the other people on the tour. Overall, just a great experience and I highly recommend it to others.

Beatiful experience to add a little bit of nature into your Vegas trip. - Incredibly fun experience! Did a tandem kayak with my wife and we both had a lot of fun. Clear skies and chilly day, but it feels very good to be rowing out in the river. We were told that its not the best time of the year to view the cave in its full splendor, but we did find the ride very enjoyable, specially if you want to avoid big crowds.
Sal was out guide and he was amzing!! 10/10 would recommend doing the tour!
