Learn how to back your kayak up into the world famous Emerald Cave/Cove to get some stunning memorable photos of the emerald green water. The cave itself is the cherry on top of a spectacular afternoon on the beautiful section of river we paddle. The guided kayak tour takes place within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and there is an admission fee per vehicle to enter which is payable direct upon entry. This admission fee is waived if you have a current National Park annual pass or military ID.

After visiting the Emerald Cave/Cove, you’ll proceed to a beach in the Canyon where a catered lunch awaits. This stop also offers time to swim or simply unwind and take in the stunning views of the Black Canyon.
You’ll be equipped with top-notch gear and guided by world-class experts and professional office staff.
The total paddling distance ranges from 4 to 6 miles.
- We offer single or tandem (2 seater) kayaks. Please specify which kayak you would prefer.
- The Emerald Cave is just a small cutout of the mountain for a great photo op!
- We provide life vests. Please specify which size you would prefer. S/M, L/XL, 2XL/3XL
- You will be meeting us at the marina. Have reliable transportation to meet us 30 minutes before your tour start time, there is NO cell service at the marina to call a ride share.

- We had the most fantastic time with Calvin as our guide!! My daughter and I booked this tour the morning of and I was nervous since I do not have a lot of prior kayaking experience. Trip is safe, fun,
gorgeous views, and a great activity to do with your family. A memory for a lifetime.

- This is a must do!!!! Calvin our tour guide was top notch. He really bring the fun and good conversation. He educated us about the whole willow beach area including facts about vegas. And included a photo drive of our tour at no additional cost. The value of this tour is unreal. Thanks again Calvin!!!!

Majestic views, Amazing Kayak Experience - Kayaking down the Colorado River was amazing. I was a little nervous for this adventure, seeing that I had never kayaked before, but it was a great experience! It was peaceful and such beautiful scenery to enjoy. While it was extremely hot outside, it turned out to be the most perfect day with the breeze. Emerald Cove was absolutely beautiful. Ryan was our guide and he was great! He was fun and very knowledgeable of the area and it's history. I would definitely do this again if we ever visit the area in the future again.

Top Things to Do in Vegas - Highly recommend this trip. Our guide Faith made this very fun and she was very knowledgeable through the whole trip. My older teens loved this and we are already talking about doing it again. There wasn’t anything we’d change about this trip and a big thanks to Faith for making this experience that much more enjoyable!

Rudders! - One word rudders. Not knowing anything about kayaks. Got lucky with this company …Evolution Expeditions! Great guides that are super helpful and a great great experience. The kayaks having rudders makes a huge difference on how much you enjoy the trip!

Beautiful day, loads of fun! - We had a fabulous day, packed with fun as well as being super interesting and informative.
Calvin was our guide for the day, and he didn’t disappoint - knowledgable, skilled, as well as great to chat to. He really went out of the way to make it a good time for everyone in our party. He’s brilliant.
This is a great excursion to help break up the Vegas madness, and get close to beautiful nature (whilst we still can).

Incredible day!! - This was one of the best excursions we’ve done in awhile!! We stayed in Las Vegas but took the opportunity and explored many of the surrounding natural areas/parks (SO peaceful!!) . The Colorado river and mountains were breathtaking and the crisp water was super refreshing for a hot day! We were pleased with how easy and seamless it was to book our tour, and that our group size was only 12 people. It was just enough to meet other adventurous people but not too crowded. Upon arrival we were greeted and taught about launching the vessels, how to operate the rudder system on the boat (super helpful! We have kayaks but have never used this steering system! It’d be super helpful for beginners) There really isn’t anything negative to say as the whole process was done with personable, funny people! Onto our guide! We were privileged to be guided by Jeff, who was very personal, but not too nosey; knowledgeable about the history of the river but did not deliver in a boring way; and informative about conservation and the trajectory of the area. Jeff was an all around great human who simply wanted to make sure each person on the tour was seen, heard, and most importantly, had a terrific experience. (Almost like the friend you haven’t seen in forever and conversation picks up easy as if no time had passed)! We were served a catered lunch (from Jason’s deli, and given options at registration! Thank you for that EE team! ) a variety of snacks, and plenty of ice cold water! A great way to treat your guests who may not otherwise think to include enough for the whole 4 hour adventure. Water guns were on each kayak and I’d say a huge hit! They made you feel like a kid again and sneaking up on other boats from behind was fun! Truly can not give enough accolades to this company and their attention to detail! If you are looking to add adventure/exercise/the outdoors to your vacation, this is the place to make those forever memories!

Amazing - Greatest business to go with. Our your guide Calvin was amazing. Picked up is on time took complete care of us throughout the day. Made sure we stayed hydrated all day. It was impressive as how young Calvin is how mature, caring and kind he is. There were some older individuals with the group and he took care of them. Never made them feel inadequate at all so helpful and kind. Down to earth. He’s a keeper!! You should be proud of him. Thank you so much Calvin for a great day 😁

Great Day!!! on the Colorado river - From first contact on the phone through the on water trip these people were easy to work with and did a great job. Faith, out guide, was great! She was so knowedeable about the river, wild life, plants, history of the region, everything. She did a great job of passing that information along with a smile and passion. You can't ask for more than that. I would recommend Faith and Evolution Expeditions to all. Ask for Faith.
