100% worth it - Such an amazing experience - we were lucky because we had ridiculously calm water and saw probably 20 whales, but even if we hadn’t I’d still highly recommend it. The snorkeling spots were incredible and the crew was super nice. Hope to do it again some day!

Great day snorkelling option - Do it ! - We did the full day snorkelling and dive tour, and while I’m normally a pretty critical traveller, I seriously can’t fault the day at all. Great direction and communication by the crew , who were engaged in making our day safe and memorable. Boat was super comfortable, clean and modern. The day had that smaller intimate feel, instead of being a mass volume rollout . Even the music was spot on , not annoying typical stuff. Food healthy for once , thanks ! Plenty of time in the water , no rush , and saw a manta ray !

The only tour group to "explore" with! - Visiting the Whitsundays? Then this is the tour group for you! We did two tours with these guys and highly recommend them! Both tours departed from the Hamilton Island Marina. We did the Full day snorkel on the reef and after about two hours (on a super comfy vessel), we arrived at our first snorkel spot - I think it was the back of Bait Reef). During the boat trip, our guides went around and spoke to all the guests, the check fitness and swim capability. I'm an average swimmer and Grace suggested I use a pool noodle - these were readily available. Other guests opted for life jackets. This added an extra level of confidence and allowed a more pleasant snorkelling experience. Once in the water, we were watched over by Grace and Jack on surf skis (one at the front of the group and one at the rear ) as well as Lacey close by in the tender - if you needed assistance. We visited two sights during the day ( I think the second was Stepping Stones ) and Rory our skipper was funny, informative and adaptive , during the whole day. In between snorkel opportunities, there was morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea available. Everything was fresh and yummy and nicely prepared by Dianne. The mini donuts were so yummy! The equipment provided ( wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins - were all in good condition). In fact , when my husband's snorkel played up, it was promptly replaced. ........................................................................................................... On our second tour - we did the Half Day Explore Hill Inlet. This was a replacement tour, as our Whitehaven tour was canceled and I'm so glad we did this. Again, we traveled in the comfortable vessel, skippered by Rory. The transfer from the main vessel to the island is via tender - professionally skippered by the capable and super nice -Lacey. Once landed, it was a 20 minute guided scenic bush walk to the lookout (boardwalk/gentle elevation), where our guide Gus , was happy to take photos of groups. The view from the lookout is nothing short of breathtaking and the only way to appreciate the splendour of Whitehaven and the area, Depending how long you choose to spend at the lookouts - there are three in total- determines how long you get at the beach. This beach (looking across to Whitehaven) is spectacular. Everyone then meets at the pre-determined meeting spot and is transferred back to the main vessel via tender. My tip would be, try and get the first tender onto the island - to maximise your visit. There is ample time and this makes the most of your visit. In summary- we would definitely recommend the crew of Explore. You will be in capable hands with Lacey, Gus, Rory, Grace and Jack.

Brilliant Tour Company and Wonderful Day - On a once-in-a-lifetime trip from Ireland. We booked a trip to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef (we were brought to Butterfly Bay on Hook Island) in the morning and visit Whitehaven Beach in the afternoon (booked as one tour with the company). The tour was fantastic. The team was professional, well organised, friendly and relaxed. The refreshments and lunch provided for us on board were delicious. The boat was clean and comfortable. The tour itself was incredible. We spotted lots of unusual fish and some fantastic coral despite staying on the inner reef. We did not feel that we missed out at all. Whitehaven Beach is also a must-see and we had time to walk up to the lookout and explore the beaches below. We would not hesitate to recommend Explore Australia as a safe pair of hands for your travel experience in the Whitsundays.

Incredible Double Dive Experience – Gus Made It Unforgettable! - We had an amazing time on the double boat dive with Explore Group from Hamilton Island! The whole day was incredibly well-organized, and the boat itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable for the journey out to the Great Barrier Reef. The diving was spectacular – vibrant coral, tons of marine life, and great visibility. But the true highlight of the trip was our Divemaster, Gus. He was knowledgeable, calm, and super enthusiastic, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants everyone to have the best possible dive. Lunch was also a pleasant surprise – fresh, tasty, and satisfying after a couple of dives. Everything from safety briefings to the gear setup was handled professionally and smoothly. Highly recommend this experience to any diver visiting the Whitsundays. And if you’re lucky enough to get Gus as your Divemaster, you’re in for an unforgettable day!

Smooth sailing! - Such a well organised trip! All of the staff were helpful both on and off the boat- I upgraded to scuba diving last minute and everyone made the process super easy without an issue. Our dive guide Gus also very friendly and made sure the dives went smoothly- he also filmed them on his go pro and sent them to us which was an added bonus :)

Amazing day - Great day out from Hamilton Island. Young, vibrant and warm staff on board and well worth the money. Got to see some turtles nestling in the reef. Food on board was very good and plentiful.

Excellent trip to the reef for both divers and snorkelers - My husband scuba dives and I snorkel, so this trip was an excellent way for us both to see the Barrier Reef as the trip caters equally for both divers and snorkelers. We’ve done a few of these trips over the years and this was the best one we’ve done. Explore are a highly professional outfit who make the experience fun and safe, and they have the utmost respect for the reef. The trip lasts about 8 hours, during which you get about 2 hours snorkelling and about 1 hour 40 mins diving (split over 2 dive sites). You are well fed (donuts, light lunch, afternoon snack) and theres the opportunity to buy drinks on board. I can’t recommend this trip enough, as long as you are a competent swimmer as the current can be strong and you have to keep moving or you will drift away from the reef where all the coral/fish/things to see are.

Changed our trip few minutes before departing - We paid for a full day snorkel tríp to the Great Barrier Reef, but due to “weather conditions” (meaning they did not had enough to make this trip viable) they sent us to inner corals around the Whitsundays and then to Whiteheaven beach. Definitely different value for money, as the state of the corals is much better in the Great Barrier Reef than in the Inner corals (that is why we booked this). Not happy.
