• Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a nonprofit organization committed to the preservation of Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, education, research, and exceptional animal care. AWCC provides a sanctuary for injured and orphaned animals, offering them a permanent home. The Center features a variety of educational and daily guest programs, including the “Walk on the Wild Side” tour, which allows visitors to closely observe the Alaskan wildlife residing there. During the summer, AWCC also offers intimate animal encounters with moose or brown bears. The Center is home to a diverse range of animals, including black and brown bears, moose, elk, lynx, caribou, muskox, bison, reindeer, wolves, foxes, deer, and more. Visitors can choose to drive the 1.5-mile loop or explore the 200-acre AWCC campus on foot.

• Girdwood Brewing Company - Local food trucks are available on-site daily during the summer months and on weekends in the winter. Enjoying lunch at a picturesque brewery with food trucks combines delicious food, craft beer, and the splendor of nature. Picture yourself at a wooden picnic table on a sunlit patio, surrounded by lush greenery and majestic mountains. The air is crisp, with a gentle breeze carrying the earthy aroma of hops and grilled food. The 3,040-square-foot brewery and taproom offer panoramic views of the surrounding Chugach mountains, where you can relax with a beer in the timber-framed taproom. There is also a fantastic beer garden with a fire pit for those who prefer to enjoy their drinks in a more natural setting.

• Earthquake Park - Earthquake Park provides visitors with insights into a significant moment in Alaska’s history: the 1964 Earthquake. The quake on March 27 – Good Friday – registered a magnitude of 9.2, making it the largest earthquake ever recorded in North America. A steep drop-off north of the park and the unusual rippling hills in the forest below are remnants of the massive earthquake that permanently changed Anchorage’s landscape. Informative displays narrate the story of the geological forces at work that day, as well as Anchorage’s history before and after the quake.

• Lake Hood Harbor - Alaska’s Lake Hood Seaplane Base is the world’s largest and busiest seaplane base. Located about four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lake Hood Seaplane Base, or Lake Hood Floatplane Base, allows visitors and passengers to witness nearly 1,000 floatplanes parked around the lake. Watch the floatplanes take off and land, and learn about the history behind it.

• Turnagain Arm - The remaining 1.5 hours will be allocated for travel time between stops, from pickup in Whittier to drop-off in Anchorage.

• Alaska Wild Berry Products - Sample the finest chocolates! There are four kitchens: the Jam and Jelly Kitchen, Hot Kitchen, Candy Kitchen, and the Molding Room. Visitors can watch all four kitchens in action through the viewing windows in the store. See Alaska’s 20-foot Chocolate Waterfall, which features over 3,000 pounds of chocolate, authentic copper candy kettles, and a specially designed warming and mixing system. The chocolate flows from the fountain head, cascades down the kettles, and settles in the swirling chocolate pool. It’s an incredible sight to behold!
