Definitely worth it - Enjoyable tour. Beautiful scenery to take in. Nice staff who explained things well. We were hoping to see Glacier calving but that unfortunately didn't happen (may be because of the season). Saw bald eagle, one big bear and other animals. Family enjoyed it

Well worth it! - We saw otters, sea lions and two humpbacks and got right up to a tidewater glacier and saw it calving. Awesome day, awesome crew! Be aware that they go from the marina at the original cruise terminal. If you are coming in to the new terminal you will need to take a transport to get there.

A memorable real life Alaska experience - In September 2024 we were in port in Whittier, Alaska. The Phillips cruise terminal was right next door to the Holland America cruise ship. Great decision. We had originally booked the 4 hours cruise. They called us and said it was canceled but offered the 6 hours cruise. We had a 6+ hours memorable adventure. The Catamaran was brand new and very comfortable and only accommodated 150 guests which made it possible to be up close and personal with all those glaciers. Although the weather was cold and a little wet we were very comfortable and visibility from inside the vessel was excellent. The salmon chowder lunch was good. The Park Ranger aboard the boat was very knowledgeable. In additional to stopping at multiple glaciers we had an opportunity to see harbor seals, sea otters, stellar sea lions and eagles. This was an incredible excursion at a reasonable price, to be recommended to anyone who wants to have a real life Alaska experience.

Great way to spend a day in Alaska - Truly great experience. They don't exaggerate when they guarantee you won't get seasick. It's an amazing boat tour, unbelievably beautiful nature, a lot of wildlife to see and magical glaciers.

Don’t book privately by arrival by cruise ship. - The tour is great, but. Do not book this tour if you entering by cruiseship and your ship is offering this tour as well. Phillips cruises will book and invoice at your booking and send a email just two days ahead the tour will be cancelled. Meaning they have your money for months. They pretend it’s just come up. .. not. So you have to rebook onboard (an pay a lot more. On Oceania almost double the price ) and hope there is availability left at your onboard excursion desk. Also there I a new dock in Whittier much further away from the departure dock.

Beware... ask lots of questions when reserving and checking in! - Beware.. they assign you a seat when you book, but don't tell you that. When talking with the reservationist, I told her I was taking their cruise because of their sea sickness guarantee. She said she had that problem as well and understood. When we checked in at the boat we were handed a slip of paper with a table assignment, and said we were the only ones at this table of 4. When we got on the boat their were 2 people at the table in the forward facing seats. We then found out that ours were the backward facing seats. Anyone who gets motion sickness would know you don't want to be going backwards for 5 hours! Talked to several staff, finally the first mate about this problem. He offered us 2 seats on the upper floor in the first row center of boat looking at a wall! I told him this wasn't better, and NO view at all. He said he could tell we booked early because we were assigned a window seat, but couldn't offer us anything else. So, if we were the only ones at the table when we checked in, how did the other people get the forward facing seats?? Also, almost everything they pointed out was along the port (left) side of the boat. They would slow so people could see it. We were on the starboard side. We thought it would be okay because we would see these things on the way back. They didn't slow or point out any of these things on the way back. This was a very disappointing trip! Ask lots of questions before booking and when checking in!!

2025- Significant difference from previous years and not for the better. - We did this tour previously, around the same dates last year and absolutely loved it but this year was very disappointing. 1. The tour did not get up close with any glacier! 2. There was a lot of time wasted just floating around looking at a couple of glaciers from a significant distance. 3. We traveled a significant distance in the direction of college glacier just to stop dozens of miles short. We then floated around for 20 minutes at a distance where no one found it to be a reasonable glacier viewing. Many people were heard commenting that this was silly. Then we had to track that distance back. Total waste of time. 4. Boat was way overcrowded and the seats that aren’t by the windows aren’t great for viewing. Bottom line- for 2025 this is basically an extremely overpriced trip to only one glacier.
